We stayed at the Regal Palms while visiting Rotorua. We wanted to find a hotel that had breakfast options, pool, good wifi and was centrally located to all of the attractions to see and do in the area. This place was perfect. Our room was easily accessible from the parking lot which made it easy to load and unload our luggage. The room was quite large and well stocked with everything you would need. With it being right on Fenton Street, all of the attractions were very close by in each direction. The hotel staff was quite friendly which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only complaint I would have is that they were undergoing some construction while we were there. It was fenced off and the noise was kept down to a minimum so it wasn't bad. The construction did take up some extra parking spots so that was a bummer, otherwise not a big deal. It was actually good to see they are investing in the property. All in all was had a very pleasant stay at the Regal Palms and we would certainly stay there again. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling as a couple or with their family.

Thank you for the review. We have endeavoured to keep all noise down to a minimum whilst the construction was in progress, which for the most part i think we achieved. We are delighted with your comments, the work is complete now so we are looking forward to everybody`s thoughts on the new accommodation. Hopefully you will be able to return and enjoy all the new accommodation and facilities. kind regards Paul Manager

Stayed 3 nights in the 2 bedroom apartment (Unit 1) and thoroughly loved the room and the resort. We would love to have been able to take everything with us for the rest of our 10 day holiday.

The apartment was super clean (and I’m fussy about this), the room had everything you could want including a huge spa with bifold windows opening into a courtyard, big tvs in every room, cable channels, free dvds, heated pool, gym, free bike hire, milk and cookies on arrival, fantastic bathroom products right down to the bath salts.

The owners/managers obviously care about the property and pay attention to every detail. Everything is well maintained, clean and like new (that’s if it isn’t new).

The resort is very quiet (and our room was right outside the pool and BBQ area) but also well used by families playing with the large balls in the pool or having a BBQ on the picnic tables provided.

Parking was right outside our ground floor unit which made unloading the car easy.

Wish we staying there now!

Stayed at regal palms for 3 nights and have to say it has been my favourite place since arriving in New Zealand on this trip....the room (23) was absolutely spotless, the service staff were really friendly and helpful (as was all the staff we came across during the stay). The facilities are excellent, mini golf: bikes: pool and bbq area. From checking in at reception with the nice touch of free magazines to the amazing spa bath in our room, I can only say this place was just about perfect and cannot recommend enough for anyone passing through Rotorua...

Upon arrival met a receptionist who was not welcoming at all. Her name was Judith if m not wrong. She just said very unwelcoming hi as I entered. Not even once smiled n was to the point. I felt walking away from this resort. We stayed for two days and the second day checkout was at 10 am. While we were getting ready to leave after our brekky which was just before 9 my husband n kids saw a room service lady peeking through our room window.actually putting her face on the window to see clearly if people left so she can start cleaning. I thought that was very rude and unprofessional. Won’t be returning for sure .

On a recent holiday we stayed two nights in room 47, ground floor at the back. It’s a one bedroom unit, and it’s really big. It’s in the new block that’s only been open about four weeks (at the time of our stay, mid-June).

It's a really lovely unit, much posher than we’d normally stay in. We got a good deal when I phoned the night before to ask what accommodation was available. It wasn't cheap but I was happy with the price I'd paid.

However we found a few glitches. There’s no recessed handle on the bathroom door, from the bedroom. We told the proprietors about it so hopefully they will get that sorted.

We couldn’t figure out how to work the underfloor heating in the bathroom. There’s an electronic pad as you go into the bathroom but we can’t figure out what it does or how to work it…there were no instructions at all to show you.

The owner came over during our first afternoon with the maintenance guy/electrician, and he set the underfloor heating to manual for us.

There are large TVs in both the lounge and the bedroom. Each TV has it’s own MySky, which is great.

in the kitchen there is a full sized fridge/freezer, a full sized oven, and full sized electric hob.

Very friendly staff at the reception desk.

We didn't try the on-site restaurant so I can't comment on that.

To be honest I wouldn't want to pay the full price for this unit, but would definitely stay at this resort again in a smaller unit - even their smaller units are roomy. We've stayed in a studio unit here twice previously.

Room and bathroom was very nice and spacious, check in was easy and simple, the bed was quite hard and uncomfortable as I would always wake up with a sore back same with the pull out sofa bed. Our room was not serviced properly on the first night and had to ask for rubbish to be taken and replaced etc there was not enough parking so we had to park away from where our room was. A bit annoying considering the big amount that was paid for this other than that our stay was fine

We stayed at the luxury 1 bedroom (2 adults + 2 small kids) close to the tennis court.
The spa/jacuzzi in the bedroom was amazing and big, the bathroom itself is spacious. Room was clean and have everything, even a private patio at the back.
The only thing was the living room and dishwasher was a bit smelly, just needed some fresh air in the room. The heat pump was not working but they brought 2 heaters so we can heat the room. It was nice and warm in the room.
Free wifi and it goes all around the property.
Lots of stuff to do for the kids, heated pool was def a hit, mini golf, little playground, tennis court, table tennis. There is a gym which was really convenient.
There is also a restaurant on site which serve exquisite cuisine, must try.

We stayed in a Superior Suite at Regal Palms and couldn’t have been happier. The king size bed was comfortable. The room, though a studio, is huge. It has a fully equipped kitchen with 2 burner induction hob, European size refrigerator, kitchen sink, toaster, microwave and a fully equipped kitchen (minus an oven). There’s a desk, two chairs and the king bed and kitchen and still plenty of room to move around. The tv is at least 50” I’m guessing. There’s a separate closet area with a dresser and plenty of hanging space. Then you come to the huge bathroom. It’s a wet room with huge spa that fits two adults reclined and a separate area with rainfall shower head. The toilet is in a separate area. We didn’t use the pool or other recreational areas but there were plenty on offer from ping pong to tennis and mini golf.

The Regal Palms Resort was absolutely amazing, from my first email enquiry to checking out the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We made the most of all the extra services they offer, there was a secure place to store our bikes after a beautiful day riding in the redwoods.
We had booked in for massages which were perfect and relaxing the masseuses was professional and left us both feeling complete relaxed and knots were worked out of our muscles.
For dinner we were treated to a delightful experience in the in house restaurant Matai, The food was incredible. It was beautifully presented and full of flavor. the staff were friendly and professional.
Through the whole experience we were made to feel welcome and like nothing was to much trouble. the room itself was spacious and very clean and everything you would want for a relaxing weekend away.
We highly recommend staying here or even just dining at the restaurant.

Fabulous place to stay as either couple or family! Our studio room was very clean, had all facilities one requires, a spacious, incredibly comfortable bed with beautiful quality bed linen & towels. We loved the re-fillable deep spa bath in the bathroom too! The house keeping was also great, high attention to detail in ensuring we had everything we needed with replenished toiletries etc. We will definitely be back to stay!
