FUNKY GREEN VOYAGER

Enjoyed my stay here for a few weeks while housekeeping. Great location, right next to Countdown and town. Everyone was really friendly and relaxed. Lots of places to sit and get to know other travelers. Will definitely stay here again if I'm back in Rotorua.

Nice and welcoming

My bf and I booked a private room. The room was big enough and the bed was very comfy. The place is very quiet so you can get a very good sleep there. Bathroom and kitchen are always clean. There is plenty of space in the fridges to stock your food. I really enjoyed the fact they do recycling and compost. You can also purchase $2 beers of soft drinks. The living room is very cosy thanks to the cute fireplace. Countdown is literally across the road and the main street is only 5 min walk away. I would recommend that place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Rotorua.

Good Memories

I went in this wonderful BBH during my trip in New Zeland in 2015, with my friends and colleagues. Cordiality and happiniess, good place! we spend just one night here but everything was good. nice and clean. I hope to come again

Best hostel in New Zealand

A hostel providing a home away from home feel. I have absolutely loved my time at funky and would recommend it to anyone coming to visit Rotorua. It has the kindest owners, who will help you with near enough anything, answers all questions and provide guidance needed along the way. The reception staff and cleaners are also all amazing. The kitchen and lounge area provide such a homely feel, it’s clean and spacious and has a beautiful outside area perfect for relaxing in the upcoming summer months. I couldn’t change or recommend any changes for this place... great job telfers, keep it going :)

Great hostel

We stayed at this hostel during our time in Rotorua and it was great! The rooms are all super clean, especially the bathroom which has lovely hot and powerful water too! The bedrooms are really spacious for a 6 bed dorm and there was loads of space for your bags. The beds are comfy and cosy at night. The kitchen is quite small but has lots of space for storage and to make your dinner! The lounge area is nice and cosy and has a log fire in the winter at night time so you stay lovely and warm! The internet was a bit hit and miss during our time, and seemed to work a lot better in the evenings. The location is great! So close to countdown and only a 10 min walk to the city centre! Overall a really nice stay and I would definitely come back again!
