We visited with 3 mums and 8 kids over the school holidays. Had an amazing time. An extra big thank you to Amanda who worked in the bar and the buffet breakfast. So helpful, professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for her which was appreciated. The buffet breakfast was superb as was the pool. The only negatives were the grotto pools and wifi not working well. Will definitely return, thanks.
We visit rotorua every 6 months. We hv tried and stayed at so many hotels. This was our first time & last time here at distinction. We stayed for 3 nights. For starters, there were no wine glasses in the room, called reception to provide, these shud hv been in the room at the first place. For second night we needed to 'ask' at reception to clean/ make up our room as per cleaning staff, we asked, when we came back to room in evening, beds were made but toiletries were nt provided, glasses were not washed or replaced. For third night, our room was never cleaned at all....even after getting it "noted" at reception....we came back to a untidy room after long day of activities.... rubbish was not cleaned, bed was not made, glasses and cups were not replaced....called reception and got unapologetic 'apology'. After one hr of the complaint fresh towels were provided. When we checked out next mrng, we recieved another unapologetic 'apology', we advised tht we r never gonna stay here again and the staff cudnt care less!!…
Our car club held its annual national meeting at the Distinction Hotel from the 18-21 March 2022. Due to COVID restrictions we were limited to 100 participants. We must thank all the staff for their professionalism, organisational skills and genuine friendliness. Everyone seemed so eager to please, and seemed excited to be holding a conference again since COVID restrictions have been eased. All the rooms are a high standard and very clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast each morning was delicious, and the evening meals during the weekend were excellent. Once again a big thank you for making our National Meeting run so smoothly.
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful from our first moment of contact to our last! The room was spacious, comfortable and most importantly, clean. We had a small balcony and overlooked the road. We hoped traffic noise would not be an issue, and it wasn't. There was a safe in the cupboard, as well as space to unpack clothes. Also a selection of toiletries in the bathroom. There were 4 items on the breakfast menu (full breakfast, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict and continental - room service or dine in) and we had to order before 8pm the night prior. I think this is how they are coping with the low numbers during the pandemic - no buffet. We were seated at a window overlooking a pond with gold fish - a peaceful setting! The swimming pool looked inviting though we did not use it. There is ample parking in a fenced car park adjacent to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again - highly recommend this hotel.…
We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 kids and the pool did not disappoint! When we weren’t sight seeing we were in the pool - which was a welcome sight after a long, hot day of exploring. There was so much choice at the breakfast buffet (I’d recommend paying for this when you book your room) and the restaurants were great too - especially Mr Yakitori which was delicious. We knew the kids wouldn’t enjoy the food but they let us mix and match with the other restaurant which made it too easy. All the staff were super friendly! We’d book again, but next time I’d get a room with a balcony. All in all we had a lovely time. Our room was cleaned and beds turned down each day. Pool towels available whenever you need them. Thanks for having us!
