Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to Holden's Bay Holiday Park for a Family Holiday in Nov 23. We booked the 3 Self-Contained Family Rooms that sleep 6 in each room. Very spacious Rooms with comfortable beds. Extra pillows & Blankets if needed. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to cook with. Myself & my partner stayed in a 1 bedroom which had a bed in lounge. Very spacious Room with all the kitchen utensils, pots, plates etc. to cook in the room. The Rooms had small fridges, but we were advised prior to trip, so we took chill bins for each room to store food. BBQ area was so clean & BBQs were very clean too with utensils to use if needed. Pool is cold. There is a heated small pool inside room by pool. Volleyball net with balls to borrow at Reception. Staff were so helpful & information was clear to all. A lot of space for the kids to run around & play at nice playground for kids. Thank you, Holdens Bay Holiday Park, for making our Family Holiday for 20 people a very enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed our stay on a powered site with our caravan and were able to bring our dog. The staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities, although a bit older, were kept clean and tidy. There is a coffee cart on site for your morning fix. We could take advantage of the winter deal 3 nights for the price of two and even got a 10% discount on the remainder with our NZCMA members. Much appreciated. The camp is a few minutes from the lake side, and a 15 minute drive to Rotorua city centre.

We recently had one night at Holdens Bay Holiday Park it was lovely! I think we had site 29 so right next to the stream, and so much space around. The facilities are getting on, but the team are doing a great job keeping them nice and clean! Jay at Reception and Matt were so friendly, and accommodating! Really close to the airport and easy access to Rotorua! Thanks guys!

We stayed here for a total of 9 nights in one of the self-contained units. It's a great location for a holiday park and plenty of options for families to enjoy the facilities. Our unit was spotlessly clean and comfortable and a couple of minor issues were immediately dealt with in an efficient and friendly way. An easy trip into the city or the major attractions makes this an excellent base if you're visiting the area. All the staff we came into contact with were so friendly and fun, special thanks to Amy, Dan, Jodie, Ed and Adoniya who each, in their own way, made our stay really special. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend this park and will certainly return here if we visit Rotorua again.

We did booked a extra night, and paid it cash. The conditions did tell:if you make a booking it is not possible to cancel the booking so shortly, within 72 hours. But our plans changed en we did got our whole booked money back, real soon! That's most kindly!

This was a school trip, and the teachers stayed in a motel unit, and students in the cabins. The cabins all have kitchens, and the shared bathroom was fine. Cheap, clean and nice. Highly recommend. There are two hot pools. It's on one of the flight paths to the airport so got a bit of a fright with a low plane at one stage, but all adds to the fun.

This is the second time I have stayed here and won't be the last. Staff are friendly and although I booked a standard cabin it was well stocked, clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. A good holiday stop and close to attractions.

Stayed on a powered site for 2 nights with my partner. Kitchen had all of the needed amenities such as hobs, oven, fridge, freezer, bait freezer, toaster and kettle. Plenty of sinks with dish soap provided. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of shower cubicles. Campsite also had a pool, hot pool, TV room and a volleyball court. Only a 10 minute walk to watch the sunset over lake rotorua also. McDonalds is also around the corner if needed. Overall, great stay!

Our family of 5 stayed two nights in a 2 brdm motel unit during the long Queens Birthday Weekend. It was clean and plenty big enough and had everything we needed. Double bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. Take extra blankets though if in winter if you feel the cold like me. Complementary tea, coffee and milk provided. Two small communal hotpools in the park are nice but popular so may be difficult to get a turn. A good large communal games/tv room above the office. Didn't use the communal kitchen or bathrooms so cant comment on them. Staff were helpful enough upon check-in. A big tick for not having a min 3 nights stay policy which so many other places have during long weekends. Reasonably priced and we had no probs. Overall good value. You can better quality elsewhere but you'll pay more.
