Pullman Rotorua garners praise for its professional service and stylish atmosphere, though some guests note slow service at times. The hotel's scenic views and spacious rooms are well-liked, yet the value proposition is questioned due to additional costs like valet parking.
While the central location is a plus, attracting guests for its accessibility to attractions and dining, critiques of the open-plan bathrooms and noise disruption are recurrent. Cleanliness is a consistent compliment, with the hotel maintaining tidy spaces throughout.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here as a family with two interconnecting rooms (although they didn’t connect in a conventional way). This isn’t a 5 star hotel but was comfortable during our stay. The layout of the room was weird with the bathroom being the feature but open planned so offered absolutely no privacy.
Both of our rooms had bathrooms - similar to this photo taken from a pic online where the toilet is on one side and shower on the other with no private changing space and gaps in both.
This hotel offers nothing else - no one meets you when you arrive no one collects your bags, there’s no mini bar, no pool, no spa. (There are Nespresso pods with a small coffee machine though and a gym). The valet parking is chaotic.
We went to the restaurant for al a carte breakfast (the menu was available for viewing and we had it in our hands) but were told ‘we don’t do that we only do buffet breakfasts’). Quite odd!!
The rooms were clean, new and comfortable (albeit dark) the bathroom was just too weird and badly designed and it offered nothing extra other than a handy location.
This hotel would be fine on a work trip but I’d give it a miss if you are on holiday as there are plenty of other options.

We found the staff very welcoming and helpful, however there is no parking and then valet parking is $25.00 - the restaurant was busy so one needs to make a reservation..double check it as our booking wasn't in the system when we arrived at 7pm for dinner! Dinner was good as was the service. Our room was serviced during the day. They also take a large bond so eftpost the bond or you might wait 5 days for the credit to show up.
The rooms are rather strange; spacious with a lovely super king bed is the best aspect. The toilet is in a frosted glass box in the corner and one can hear everything that happens and smell too!! ... no fan, air freshners or toilet brushes. The shower is in a similar box and no towel rails supplied except a small handtowel rail.
The TV is great, only seating for 3 people though. The architects/designers must have been on wacky juice!!

Easy place to find, Reception staff fantastic. Room layout excellant, bathroom unique, washbasin in the centre with shower at one end and toilet the other. We had a City view room on the 4th floor with easy access to the lifts. There are Lake view rooms.
The restaurant, Barrell & Co is an open plan, you can see the kitchen staff cooking your meal. the food is amazing.

This hotel charges that of a 5 star. On first impressions, it seems to deliver, until you approach the desk and are told you will have to park on the street. Guests are then charged a bond of $100 per night...more than that of other 5 star hotels with brilliant service. While our room was nice, it was not clean, with tables covered in the leftovers of previous guests. After our first day of enjoying the activities Rotorua has to offer, we returned to find that shower gel, toilet paper etc had not been replenished, surfaces had not been wiped down and only 2 towels provided for a family room. Not cool. When we asked reception for a couple more towels we were met with an extremely rude answer. The same happened the next day as well. Yes the Pullman may look the part, but do not judge a book by its cover. The hotel's great location is undermined by the lack of attention to detail and downright rude staff. Very disappointin. We will not be returning.

This is not a 5 star hotel. Its a 3 star.
We booked a lake view room paying over $400 a night, expecting a nice room, nice service but all we got was the view of the front building and very rude staff.
Next day breakfast was absolute crap, soggy potatos, cold bacon and although we paid for breakfast they charged us extra for coffees 😳😳
We won't come back and we won't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Check the photo for the so called Lake view of the one of the most expensive hotels in Rotorua.

This Hotel doesn't live up to the hype. Was this hotel built by the contestants on THE BLOCK T.V. Show, with little budget? The room I stayed in for 2 nights was awful, the layout, design and workmanship looked as if it was done by amateurs. The rooms are the worst I have stayed in for layout. Sure the slow check-in, the poor valet car service, staff that are not that helpful, I can forgive for a new hotel, BUT sleeping in a bathroom is unacceptable. If you are expecting what you get at the Pullman Auckland you will be utterly disappointed. (BTW the one good thing was the bed was very comfortable, but the noise from your neighbours will disturb your sleep)

Dear Steve1234749 Sincerest apologies as the last thing any of us at Pullman Rotorua wanted was for you to leave with such a bad taste in your mouth! We have 32 different room types in our 130 bedroom Hotel so I am 100% certain that had you only mentioned this to me in passing I could have easily resolved all your bedroom configuration problems. Whilst we appreciate your valued feedback, especially since our Hotel was only 10 days old at the time we almost need our valued guests to help us, to help them ... We definitely do not want guests to suffer in silence for two days as you did. Yours sincerely Richard

It's a glass fronted office block cheaply converted to a hotel operated by the appalling Accor Group. I doubt Accor were involved with fit out, feels like cheapskate property developers got hold of it
Booked 2 rooms, the bathrooms are open plan to bedroom with glass cubes creating separate toilet and shower and open sink area. Ok for single use, wouldnt want to stay with a partner in this set up
We had 2 rooms the lake view room was ok but view over lake not great, the other horrible ridiculous shaped room. Staff are friendly but absolutely clueless. We had to argue that a glass of wine was not a sparkling wine(even the bar supervisor wouldnt accept at first)they gave up and we kept it good humoured as they were sweet and they gave the glass of wine free, but really..... Apart from that dinner was very good. Breakfast buffet was ok.
I think they bill this is a 5 star,it isn't in my view. The rates are far too high

This hotel claims to be 5*, however we found this to be a budget Pullman and were very disappointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful and this is why I am giving a generous 3 stars; but unfortunately this did not make up for the cheap way the hotel is run. We booked an executive suite with breakfast included. What it doesn't tell you is that it is a buffet breakfast and not Alacarte. This is the first time with breakfast included that we have not been offered a menu. The breakfast was pretty basic and looked more a Mercure standard than a Pullman standard. Our first morning at breakfast there were no English breakfast tea bags available when I went to get my cup of tea (in other hotels I have always been offered a pot of tea, or coffee when I have been seated). When I asked the staff about this I was told to go and sit down and this would be brought to my table. A few minutes later, the same staff member came to my table and placed a tea bag in front of me. Not quite the 5* service I was looking for. We also had access to the Club Room, which was another disappointment when compared to other Club Rooms we have attended. No bottled water (no complimentary water in our room either). No snacks which are usually available 24/7 in the Club Room at other hotels. We dined in the restaurant one night and found the quality of food and service here very good. If you are quoting 5* then please ensure your guests feel like they have received 5* service.

Brand new ACCOR hotel in Rotorua. Today was such a hot day in Rotorua 31 degrees, I have never known it so hot. Arriving at the hotel into the super cold air conditioning was bliss. Friendly welcoming staff with very fast check in. Our room was on the 8th floor with stunning views to hills and out across the lake. Lots to watch, paragliding, Lakeland Queen off on her evening dinner cruise, sea plane coming and going, people wandering to Eat Street. Super comfy king size bed. Club lounge nice quite place for an evening drink, canapes were particularly nice, raw fish presented in mini martini glass, salmon bites, deliciously tender pork belly bites. I have to give Richard a special mention, he arrived at our room to help bring bags and chilly bins down when the trolley was not available, was helping people left right and centre - he is the General Manager ! What an exemplary example to his young staff.

We stayed two nights in the July school holidays with our 10 year old son. Had a very quick easy check in. Plenty of parking space out the front, a man came out and took our bags straight away, they were in our room before us and my jacket was even hanging up already. We had a twin queen superior room on the 2nd floor with a street view. The room was pretty quiet, with very little street noise and no noise from the neighbouring rooms. Buffet breakfast was great, with eggs and pancakes to order. Bed was comfy and the room was all new and lovely, even had great pillows unlike so many hotels. Location was excellent, easy walk to lots of cafes and restaurants. Great, quick and friendly service, we had a lovely time.

Valet parking when we were there was NZ$45/day
Sorry don’t know 😊
I’d give them a call - we found them very helpful.
I used the valet parking as it was convenient. Can't remember the cost but it must have been acceptable. Depending on the time of year there is plenty of parking a short walk away.
Dear SharmilaP
We are sorry to hear you are having trouble getting a refund from Luxury Escapes.
Unfortunately as it was booked through them you would need to get in contact with them to receive a refund.
I am sorry we couldn't be of more assistance.
Kind Regards
