This was a well awaited return visit from our initial visit years ago. This cottage is just so peaceful and had everything we needed. Marianne is a wonderful and welcoming host and it was so lovely to see that this great place is just as great as years ago. The bed was super comfy and the breakfast just fantastic. Our highlight was to sit and spend time in the spa admiring the beautiful stars! Thanks Marianne for another memorable and special stay.

Marianne is a great host. The brownie upon arrival was a lovely surprise and a delicious treat. We were due to arrived in the early hours of the morning and Marianne was more than accommodating to this request. The cottage is spacious and cosy at the same time. Everything was clean and spotless. The bathroom is modern and a good size. I have never felt softer towels. There is a TV in the room but is mounted high so it is not overbearingand you feel like you are getting a true escape from digital technologies (if that is what you want). The decor is gorgeous and well thought out. The bed was comfortable and warm and there are electric blankets if needed. The front deck looks out toward a beautiful country landscape. There was even freshly ground coffee and a plunger available in the kitchen. We had fresh eggs from the chickens and used the automatic egg cooker which was also in the cottage to soft boil them. We were lucky enough to have access to the hot tub which was just wonderful after our long walk of the Tarawera Trail. There is a sauna on site too which was available to us if we wished to use it. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend this to our family and friends. Thank you Marianne for your wonderful hospitality. Look forward to seeing you again in the future.

We fell in love with this beautifully laid out cottage with has cosy 1950s decor, a hottub looking out across a beautiful rural setting, and everything you could think for a comfortable stay. There was a wicker basket to collect eggs with from the nearby field which had a hen house, children's play equipment, table tennis, and a friendly rabbit - don't worry no rooster! A lady farmer took our children to to pet the calves and alpacas. Inside was fine bedlinen, a delicious breakfast bacon, chiabatta, juice, brioche buns, freshly ground coffee. There were games, books, we felt very relaxed there. The place is situated on a plain that is surrounded by ranges, so you're in this sunny sheltered ampitheatre of green pastures. Marianne was in a house nearby that doesn't overlook the property, so we had complete privacy but she was on hand the phone if we needed anything. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a blissful few days.

Lovely stay at the Blossom Cottage in the Vintage Room. We were given a warm welcome from Marianne and could not have been better cared for. The accommodations were practical and comfortable, lots of hooks in the rooms to hang your things, a huge comfortable bed with a private bathroom. Delicious breakfast cooked to order. In the country which is serene and beautiful. We loved staying here and would highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Blossom Cottage. Marianne provides for us so well, and is a lovely host. The kids enjoyed the animals, spending time feeding them and collecting eggs for breakfast. The hot tub was a lovely bonus on the cold days. Highly recommend.

This property is 20 mins out of Rotorua in a semi rural setting. After all the fun and adventures in Rotorua it was lovely to come home and relax in the hot tub under the stars. The kids had a great time feeding the animals and collecting eggs each morning. Marianne ensured we had all we needed and was a fantastic host.

Thanks a lot Marianne, you are awesome. Your B&B is outstanding! It was clean, it was very lovely decorated, it felt like home. The breakfast was super, the kitchen had everything we needed. The hot tube was hot enough and cozy in this rainy time...we had also a relaxing time in the Sauna next to the chicken, the kids loved to feed your animals (bunny, chicken and the alpacas, and looking out in the morning to find some eggs it was like Christmas and Easter together when they found them. Thanks a lot! We definitely come back and can recommend it highly!

Hi Diana and Thomas, I'm so pleased that you and the children enjoyed your stay, including spending time in the playground, using the life-sized football goal, feeding and interacting with the alpacas, ducks and chickens, collecting the eggs from the hen-house, using the Scandinavian sauna and soaking your own private, spacious hot tub. Thanks for recommending to your friends this idyllic spot in the peaceful countryside! All the best, Marianne

Blossom Cottage is in a peaceful countryside location with no sulfurous smells. The Vintage room is very large with the most comfortable super-large king size double bed, a refrigerator, microwave and plates, cutlery etc that enabled us to make a picnic lunch each day. The hot water in the shower took a while to come but we learnt to manage it. Marianne is a lovely, warm and helpful host. The location is a some distance out of Rotorua and a bit of driving is required. However this is the case for many of the best attractions because of the large lakes to be circumnavigated. The dramatic Okere Falls for walking and rafting, Lake Okataina and Lake Okareka, the MItai Maori Village and the Blueberry Farm were all places outside central Rotorua that we visited or considered because of the excellent folder of information provided by Marianne. It was a most relaxing place to stay and the small farm and animal food provided would be great for a family.

It was my pleasure to host you both and I am pleased that you enjoyed your spacious room with Super King bed and all the extra amenities. I have not received any feedback from past guests or had issues related to the shower. It is a 15 minute drive from Blossom Cottage and The Vintage Room to Rotorua centre and the accommodation is surrounded by farmland and is free of sulfurous odours and noise, which travellers will encounter in the city. I would like to emphasise that many attractions, such as Mitai Maori Show, Canopy Tours, Agrodome, Rainbow Springs, Kiwi Encounter, The Luge, Volcanic Winery, Stratosphere Buffet Restaurant and Brook Bistro (Rotorua's best kept secret!), are a mere 5 minute drive from Blossom Cottage and The Vintage Room. Other attractions can be explored following a stunning, scenic drive past beautiful lakes, native bush and rolling hills.

We had a fantastic stay in the Vintage Room at the B&B Blossom Cottage. Marianne is a fantastic, warm, and helpful host. From the moment we arrived we could tell that this place was special. Marianne had fresh brownies out for our arrival along with a complete binder full of information on activities and restaurants in the area. Located approximately 15 minutes outside Rotorua, it was the perfect hub for four days of activities in Rotorua and the surrounding area. It was nice being a little bit out of the way to truly enjoy a relaxing stay with beautiful countryside vistas. The accommodations were lovely and the breakfast was fantastic each morning--I will especially miss Marianne's freshly-made yogurt and organic lemon drink. We loved chatting with and getting to know Marianne and her animals. In addition to meeting her friendly cats, Cloudy and Teddy, we were able to feed her chickens, ducks, bunny, and alpaca with food that Marianne provided. The room was very comfortable as well. There is an air conditioning unit, television, and en suite bathroom with excellent water pressure. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly be booking another stay here. Would give it 6 stars if that was an option!
