We stayed in the serviced hotel unit with our family (2 adults, 3 kids yrs 5, 8, 10). The unit was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was near to super markets and the city center. We did have to go and get some missing linen though on arrival. We loved the little unit, but did some balancing to put one child down in the living room pull out couch while two shared a room and we had a room, both of these were also off the living room. The spa pools were good they have a lot of natural silt on the bottom which is interesting. The main 'family' pool appeared completely different to to photos on the internet which showed kids in clear blue water. The water was very dark and appeared dirty, there was also a lot of hair and other things floating beneath the surface that made it off putting, and it seems like any pump based filters might not be working properly. It is also too deep in all areas for young kids and we needed to make a special trip to the store for water wings for the 8 yr old (who is a strong swimmer but just couldn't touch flat footed anywhere in the pool and felt insecure). This was a big let down for us. The water was warm but the depth, the dirty appearance of the water, and the unidentified debris that would touch you in the murky water meant we didn't use it as much as I had planned. They had a nice small play ground and a cafe that we found was open a few times during our visit. We did not bring bikes but it is a good park for kids who do have their bikes. They had a lovely somewhat hidden bubbling pond onsite which is worth seeking out (and the associated smell, which we didn't mind).…
Stayed here in 2019, just before covid hit us and had a great time. Met some great like minded people in the free hot spas. The accommodation was clean and warm. This year (2021), we had just booked to go again for 1 night. A day later Auckland goes into it's third lockdown, so we are unable to leave, but they were kind enough to give us a FULL REFUND, which is very appreciated and very kind. This place makes the perfect stop whilst passing through Rotorua. Only negative was I dropped my phone in the hot pool! hahaha
Arrived to a cabin, crawling with ants and a heater in the room that had not even been wiped down. Our vehicle only just fit in space provided, after passengers had to get out before parking. A good place I guess over all. But wasnt fitting for us. We returned key and left before even staying a night.
We stay here regularly as it is a great place to stay with kids, especially with the free hot pools and close location to the bike riding. Recommend to other families in particular as a great place to stay.
We stayed 4 nights for the camp site, the facility was clean, it’s worth it. The pool it was good and clean, the receptionist was very friendly. I recommend everyone who have big family. a huge place to play the kinds.
