Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our friendly host arranged adjoining units so it was easy to socialise. The rooms were roomy and well equipped in the traditional style (but a real toaster, not the finger trap model of old). Our friendly host was on site and available to assist with urgent needs. All units on the ground floor with on site parking. VERY convenient location next to the Sky Line.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very spacious with one queen bed, two twin beds, a kitchen/dining area, a toilet room and a bathroom. The beds were clean even though the room seemed dated. Best part is that there are rabbits that roam around here. (They come from the mini-golf place next door)

I traveled with my mom from the US. We had to stay 3 days in Rotorua to visit the lakes and the hot springs. We booked the cheapest motel that we found on the internet. Our expectation was not high at all. However, we were surprised that the motel is really decent and clean. It is also in a very good location. Walking distance from couple of attractions that we visited. The manager was really friendly. We booked a regular room, but when the manager saw me with my mom, he upgraded use to a 2 bedroom suite for free. He gave us coupons for the city attractions as well. The motel has a hot pool that is nice. I would definitely recommend that place if you are looking for good value and location.

The room was large and had a big glass door looking out to a lawn. Everything we had expected was there - the bed was comfortable, there was armchairs and kitchen table and chairs, an oven and microwave the toilet was separate from the shower and bathroom sink, in short, modest but vey nice, We have family nearby and intend to stay there every time we visit. Recommended.

Nice place to stay. The service and cleanliness were excellent and within walking distance of several tourist attractions, particulary Skyline Rotorua, Rotorua Canopy Tours, golf etc. I would certainly come back to the Fairy Springs Motel on my next visit to Rotorua.

We stayed here for the second time now. Superb location for mini golf and the luge. Rooms are a bit dated but large, clean and comfortable. Also warm in winter. Great value for money and the motel manager is very helpful and friendly.

Polite helpful staff. Clean, well maintained unit. Granddaughter spent a lot of time in the playground.
We would definitely book again in the future, we had an enjoyable weekend, and it was good coming back to a comfortable bed, in a nice warm room each night.

Had a family function in Tauranga. Based ourselves in Rotorua for a week and stayed in the 2 bedroom family unit.
The unit is VERY comfortable and warm, the cooking facilities came in handy when feeding 5 hungry munchkins, (with a meat and grocery store across the road) Cooked a roast dinner for a crowd of 14 one night. The play area was awesome for the little ones. Played on it every opportunity they could get. Amused when they saw a rabbit hopping around the grounds.
Negatives....what can I say about our stay here.....ummm..... still thinking.....ummm.....Ohh I know.....Absolutely Nothing!
Comfortable, clean facilities, serviced by awesome staff, close to tourist attractions but most of all, the atmosphere. When the kids are happy, mum can relax. Thank you for an enjoyable, peaceful stay. Doreen Sydney Australia January 2014

the room was basic but very clean and had a well appointed kitchen. The owner was very helpful and the wifi included worked well. We highly recommend the private thermal pool which was a great way to unwind after a long drive. We weren't travelling with children but noted a good playground and other child friendly attractions

Booked on line and confirmed to be advised by owner that no rooms were available. Subsequent discussions revealed that new owner had taken over 3 weeks previous and had not been provided with a proper handover.
Well worth a try as the owner is very hospitable and has plans for the property which is in need of some care.
May be you should call first but problems are being sorted quickly.
