Outstanding hosts that made our large group (16 rooms I think) feel most welcomed, nothing was too much trouble, easy, caring, helpful, clean comfortable lockwood-style room accommodation, and friendly hosts - thank you Leon and your wife. Rooms clean and two- bedroom units very spacious. Superb grounds with fully fenced warm outdoor pool and spa, kids play ground area, fantastic bbq and outdoor space. Confrence room also available. Quiet and right at lake edge. Whilst not at city centre ( its near airport at Holden Bay), supermarket etc only 1km.

This is our 2nd time back, I think under new management and still lovely. It is right on the lake and so peaceful, much nicer than staying in town. The motel is so clean I could almost see my reflection in the floor and the view of the lake is amazing.... took some beautiful photos at sunset last night and the kids loved the pool, spa and jumping off the small jetty in to the lake!

We stayed for 3 nights. The studio room was very comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. We had two mountain bikes which we could store securely in the bike shed. We hired kayaks from reception and it was all organised easily. The location is nice and quiet with beautiful views of the lake. The host, Leon, was very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay and we're already planning to stay here again.

I have given the motel operator two weeks to respond to my written complaints and he has not given me the courtesy of a reply. I have been staying at this motel for 13 years on a bi-annual fishing trip with my friends. Grounds are a mess, weeds everywhere, unmowed lawns, poor drainage outside family unit so when it rains a lake is formed!! Inside not much better. Oven door still not sealing properly after two years. Front elements didn't work and lazy reception staff told us to fix ourselves. Shower screen door broken. We fixed ourselves but why was it left like this for guests? Top of fridge/freezer filthy. Hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Fruit bowl full of mould. Disgusting. Wall clock didn't work. Stains on carpet. No microwave safe dishes in kitchen so appliance is useless. Dilapidated and out of shape and grubby frying pan. No cutting board to prepare food. No hot mats on table to place hot dishes without burning table. Had to use a towel. They used to be there. Lastly, no verandah lighting so after dark in the pitch black, you cannot see the steps leading up to the unit. Location fabulous. About all the good I can say!

Sadly disappointing. This used to be a fabulous spot however it is now woefully deteriorated and has many concerning safety aspects. Grounds are overgrown. Pool is dirty. Fire alarms removed. Carpet stained and rooms smelly. Location is great but the new owners do not maintain or care about their property, reputation or staff.

This motel is seriously suffering from neglect. The room was clean and tidy, however there were holes in the carpet and the carpet was threadbare in other places. The bed linen is tired. The elements on the stove are faulty working only on full no matter what setting. The shower had recently been refurbished but in another unit there was mould present in the silicone. The thermal pool was not cleaned , it was green, the spa dirty and neglected also. Gardens had weeds lawns need mowing and the autumn leaves needed to be swept up. The Trampoline is broken. THis is very sad as we have used to this motel for at least 20 years. Beautiful views and sunsets. We paid $580 for two nights. We asked to move units but the otherunit was in worse condition and smelt of smoke due to a recent fire in the unit. Very disappointing as this was a clean and tidy motel to visit.

What a horrible place! The only thing this hole has in it's favour is the view. It's an aging, poorly maintained establishment that's little more than a campsite. In fact, camping would be considerably more comfortable. The walls are paper thin, which provides little or no real privacy because you can clearly hear conversations next door ... day and night. The shower recess is a joke, and akin to trying to bathe in a wardrobe. As for a restful sleep, forget it; the mattresses are completely shot and not even worthy of donating to Vinnie's or the Salvos. By the look of it, the owner could do with a lesson in customer satisfaction and also get some exercise ... perhaps starting with a good deal of weed-pulling and garden maintenance.

Got a text the day before to say what room we were in and to let ourselves in, there was host to greet us on arriving and no option to pay for our stay. The TV didnt work, but lucky my husband is handy with a electrical qualification, and he rewired the plug to get power to telly. The heat pump didnt work, but we left that one for the owners to fix. We got a call from the Manager around 6ish to ask if he could charge our room to the MC we supplied as security. We asked to pay by eftpos to avoid the credit card surcharge and he advised us that he wasnt in site and would have to come over to do that which he did unwillingly. We have been here before under different management, this Motel has been let go, and the hosts dont seem to care. Wouldnt stay here again.

An all round lovely place to stay right by the lake and not far from the city. Our two bedroom unit was exceptionally clean, the beds super comfortable and the heat pump certainly did the job of keeping it warm. We made much use of the outdoor and indoor spa pools and borrowed a few DVD's from their extensive library. Would thoroughly recommend for groups and families. Great value for money. Thank you Leon for accommodating us in such a welcoming way.. my teenagers both commented on what an exceptionally nice person you are!

Lodge was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Lovely lake views and walls on the beach. Spa pool was amazing on a sunny afternoon. Hotel is quite a way from town ( much too far to walk) but access to town was easy and parking in town is not a problem.
