I stayed here with my two brothers, Chim and Ch'm. We only had one night in Rotorua, but had a fantastic time. The Acapulco is in a Brilliant location and is great value. Best of all, they's a friendly bunch and Noreen gave us so many very helpful tips and vouchers.

Those Netballers sound like right little Madames.

We stayed at Ann's for 3 nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The woman who takes care of the place was wonderful and extremely helpful. She gave us a great recommendation for dinner and made the reservations for us. The room (or should I call it a suite) was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed having our own private patio and hot tub. I would definitely recommend for someone who wants to be close to the action of Rotorua but not necessarily directly in it.

Our group (5 adults) stayed here during our 3 week road trip across New Zealand. I wish we could have had this place at every stop, it was so enjoyable. The 2 bedroom spa apartment was perfect! It was very clean, had everything we could possibly need (even a washer and dryer at no extra cost), very spacious and had a full kitchen. Ann was so helpful by taking time out of her busy morning to give us excellent advice about all the nearby tourist attractions. Highly recommend!!

While walking to my accommodation , I was approached by a gang member he was polite and helpful. He turned off going wither direction. As I approached the motel fence boundary I was then approached by a further 2 gang members, one standing an intimidating stance blocking the footpath who asked me if I knew the member down the road. As I walked in I was asked what room I was staying in by the 3rd member who was sitting on the motels fence.
Online I paid for the lush dulux room as in the photos with the fancy bed runners and nice decor, nice big showers, clean comfy looking furniture.....

Once I got my keys and got into the room I was extremely disappointed.... I realised I hired a room that looked like it was hired by the hour. Ripped furniture stained with marker pens, bed spreads bleach stained and sun faded with what looked like used pillowcases. stained carpet..

On requesting a refund as I refused to stay any longer than I had too, I was then charge a 2nd time. So a refund of $298 had to be put back into my card leaving me short for other exenses.

Perhaps your marketing and advertising need to be reviewed to reflect the quality you provide.

Very unhappy with service - purchased accommodation on line to find it was well below standard vs cost. They immediately charged us full rate for an entire week even after requesting to relocate elsewhere. Unhelpful and started taking pictures of us and the room.....are they serious in this day and age???

Hello Bunns -from Sydney- i know you wanted to drop the apartment at my place, so you could slip into the FREE room at 'aunty's' up the road, which was now available because 'cousin Midlred' did not come over to NZ as planned....but i couldn't do more than i offered at the time- I offered to on-sell the apartment you booked . You did tell me read the cancellation policy - but didn't give a - - - - . Then, when you came back later on, telling me how 'aunty's' was not up to much after all and that you had more space here - i had to agree, naturally!!! i have to apologise that I (unfortunately ) could not give you the one thing you wanted - FREE accommodation .For all the Gorgeous people from Sydney and all over Australia and the world- i encourage you to read all my other reviews and make up your own mind. Love and Peace andhappy travelling -Ann

Ann is a lovely lady and always had a smile on her face, very helpfull with directions and advice on what's good and what's not. She recommended i go to a beautiful little coffee shop a bit out of town and it was the perfect spot! She has a lot of local knowledge you just need to ask! The room was just as described online. The room was clean and tidy, kitchen had everything i needed to cook a meal. Parking is right out the front of your room and the local shop is a 5 minute walk down the road. It is a distance from the town centre but this also means it's a nice quiet spot. A very friendly and nice place to stay!

This is an overpriced, shabby and appalling motel. The advertised laundry facilities did not work and had not worked for months by the look of it. The beds were clean and comfortable but the rest of the furniture was tired and shabby. Do not stay here.

We stayed 2 nights here in January. Its well located to all the main sights. We walked to the CBD and back. The staff are very friendly.
The room has a full range of cooking facilities, comfortable beds and a great shower.
Lots of little extras in theroom including a drying rack and an outdoor area. Def stay here again

We arranged to arrive late last Friday night, a key had been left out for us. We arrived around 10.30pm to a freezing cold apartment that had the windows open, presumably to try and vent out the stink of cigarette smoke. I assumed they may have forgotten to return to close it up and turn on heaters. However as the only heating for the entire apartment was a small blower-type heater, that sort that you have under your desk to warm your feet and therefore completely inadequate, concluded the proprietors just didn't care about our health and wellbeing!

As there were no electric blankets on the main bed and it being impossible to heat the apartment, to avoid pneumonia we left and checked into a hotel.

I understand that the owners are not in control of previous guests who should not have been smoking inside. However there could have been a lot more done - a dehumidifier and scented candles would have gone a long way to camouflaging the smell for instance. Again there seems a remarkable lack of interest, care and consideration for guests!

Finally, it is an absolute basic requirement for Rotorua in winter that there is at least one decent sized oil heater per room and/or a heat pump/fireplace/geothermal radiator heating, it is just not possible for any property in Rotorua in winter to be habitable without some reasonable form of heating.

A complete ripoff, the photos from the website do not look anything like the actual room, no air conditioning at a 30 degree room, way expensive at $169 a night. Keep looking! This is really not an option. Plus rude, terrible customer service.

Hi Tino, It was disapointing to read your review this morning regarding your stay with us in last year Dec.We do need to state that Rotorua have temperate climate. The warmest months Jan and Feb temperature can only reach 27°C.From environmental consideration all the units has electric fan provided. Hopefully you will visit Rotorua in the future and have a more enjoyable experience as it is a beautiful holiday destination all year around. Ann's Volcanic Motel
