Stayed for 3x nights - alot of pros and cons but still an all right place to stay for cost. I would wake up to dead mosquitoes on the kitchen bench - maybe from the curtain blinds or been sitting on the window sill (I had no kitchen windows open). Ceiling could do with a little wipe, must get quiet hot in the rooms bringing in the flies. Otherwise - the owner and helpers were really awesome, friendly and helpful people. Always asked if you need anything for your rooms or were available of you needed something for your room. Shower pressure was good. It was real muggy, so was good having a fan in the room. Bed was comfy, couch not so comfy. TV was fuzzy, but free wifi. They have kitchen set up so can cook or microwave food and put groceries in fridge if trying to save money on food spending. Only walking distance to the beach either left or right side. Nice and quiet from all the beach and road noise. Good location as well. …
This is the first review I’ve ever written but people need to know not to stay here! We walked into the room and after 10 mins left and insisted on a refund as our sons asthma flared up and my dust mite allergy kicked in. I was covered in a red rash and our son had difficult breathing. The room was dirty and covered in dust, mould and stains. There was a dirty cup on the table that wasn’t ours, there were cigarette butts and dirt on the balcony, the layer of dust on the ceiling fan was ridiculous. The shower was cracked, had soap scum and mould. The lino in the floor was bubbling. The sink tap had broken off. The pool was green… everything was terrible! I received a refund immediately from the booking company, went around the corner to Marsden Road and booked other accomodation that was a 10/10 for us and ended up being cheaper as well. We had stayed at Aloha a few times years ago and enjoyed our stay so I didn’t look at the reviews before I booked again, lesson learned. It’s obviously owned by different people and the standard has dropped massively. Do yourself a favour and avoid it at all costs.…
We booked this motel prior to going away and it appeared to have good reviews. However, in reality it is run down, tired looking and the room we were given was not up to standard for the rate charged. The heater was unstable, the shower cubicle was dirty. Needless to say, we did not end up staying here and were able to get our money back.
Uneven surfaces to walk on no disability parking no sky not appropriate for babies or toddlers as tv and free view is reachable for small hands. No lighting around outside of building as pregnant and nearly fell over. My mum is unable to walk far and no parking was avaliable for her. Bedrooms were cold ar though had electric blankets on beds. Couches are dirty stains are there
Stayed one night with family. Very run down - the stairs felt structurally unsafe and there was broken furniture and cupboards in the room. Bedding clean. Definitely not a four star would not stay again. Shame as it has potential great views and outlook - just needs maintenance and modernising.
