The Bounty is a Kiwi owned and operated property, located in a quiet suburb approx 100 meters back from the Paihia Beach, shops and restaurants. We spent a week here, using it to explore the area. When we booked in, The manager Bob was extremely helpful particularly in regard to tours and local information. The room is is a good size with a comfortable lounge and chair and a coffee table. There is a table and 2 chairs and a kitchenette with sink, fridge the usual crockery and cutlery and 2 glass hot plates. The king size be is comfortable with 2 decent pillows. There is a shower & toilet and a sink in the hall outside the shower. There is good storage space. The place was clean. We had a ground floor unit and there was a bit of noise from upstairs units, possibly due to poor insulation between the two. It was a short walk to the shops and restaurants as well as the ferry terminal.

We both had the best (longest ) sleep we have had for a long time. Bed was warm and very comfortable. Good airflow through back and front door kept the unit cool,all amenities were in good working order, car parking was virtually outside the unit. Laminated information sheets answered our questions and the community services were helpful.

Budget motel with a great location one block back from the seafront and 500 metres from the wharf and town centre.
The room was large with a separate small kitchenette and a separate toilet/bathroom. Wi-fi was good. The motel has free parking.
There is no air-conditioning and whilst we were there the weather was 26C. At night our sleep quality was poor as a result of the heat.
Very good value for money and great for a one or two night stay.

I am aware you get what you pay for and the place was clean but some serious maintenance required, Broken light switches, only some lights working, broken cupboard doors in the kitchen and not nearly enough ammenities for “self contained “. The owner lectured my wife over a noise complaint from downstairs from 6am and 6 pm how ridiculous that’s when people are doing things in their rooms! Don’t waste your money on this tired motel.

I stayed one bedroom with my boyfriend. The room was simple,tidy up and there is everything which I needed like hairdryer,soap,makeremover and small heater. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Also receptionist who is spanish guy was so friendly and professional.And the owner was so friendly and nice person. I'm very satisfied with their service. I'm so excited to come here again this summer.

Great location and very friendly staff and atmosphere. This was very Comfortable and we had good facilities,a little noisy with roof noises in the night ( our neighbours complained of this as well) We enjoyed Paihia as it’s a lovely place to stop over , there are many places to eat and drink and meet people. February seems a good time to go as it was easy to book cruises and not too many tourists about .

On arriving for my 3rd stay at Bounty, I was delighted to find Paul the manager, was still working there. As usual, I was greeted to a very warm welcome, more like an old friend than a casual visitor.
The motel offers very clean and comfortable rooms, at a very competitive price when compared to others in Paihia. Its location is only 2-3 minutes' walk from all the shops, bars and restaurants and only 1 minute from the waterfront.

This was our first stop in Paihia and it was absolutely everything we wanted! Room 1 is ground level next to the road so we could walk out and not disturb any other guests. Very very affordable. Plenty of parking. The room is a king studio very clean equipt with the basics. Shower is amazing! Surprised to find sky movies so we enjoyed dinner delivered and movies after our long trip up. Great location close to the beach, countdown and central Paihia. Only downside was the walls were thin could hear the neighbours but I think they were loud talkers anyway other than that we will be back again this will definitely be our go to motel :)

We stayed here one night as friends invited us for dinner in Paihia so thought we’d stay rather than drive an hour home. The amenities are absolutely fine, I’d stay again. Shower has good pressure and lots of hot water. Clean and tidy with everything you need. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The free oranges and chocolates were a nice touch.

Well what can I say? Truly a lifesaver and such a comfortable and welcoming place.Having our cruise turned back to Auckland only 9 days into our holiday we decided ,instead of trying to get back to UK we would spend the rest of our holiday in NZ and fly back to Sydney the day b4 our flight to Uk. We chose the bay of islands cos it’s least populated sub tropical and we hadn’t been there. What a find the Bounty was. A lovely fully serviced spacious appt,just back from the ocean ,lovely sea view and round the corner from the supermarket at a budget price. Little did we know we were going to be there 5 weeks!Paul the Manager couldn’t have been more helpful. NZ TV is rubbish but he kept us supplied with great movies and sweets!Lockdown came after 5 days but because of the location we were able to walk everyday. To some beautiful local places.We would like to have stayed longer as we were very comfortable there but alas the UK put repatriation flights on as all flights had been cancelled and after 5 weeks had to leave! Hopefully we will return!.
