Surprisingly quiet and comfortable. Great having a kitchen, comfy beds and lovely shower.
Safe car parking not suitable camper vans or high vehicle. Street parking available.
When we got into our room everything was so dated and dingy. The mattress seemed to be about 20 years old and the microwave seemed from the 60's or 70's.
When I walked into the bathroom to set out my toiletries I ran into a wall of body odor. It was terrible. The grout needed a major scrubbing. When I went to the bathroom I laid towels on the bathroom floor and the shower floor so my feet didn't have to touch the tile and grout.
The Internet is free....when it works. I just shut off the wireless and used my own phone plan.
I was scheduled to stay 2 nights but couldn't make myself do it. I checked out early. When I told the owner I was checking out early she very curtly said, "well you can't get your money back." Well I never asked for it back in the first place nor was I even going to write a review until she got snippy. I was reading other reviews and another guy said he checked out early as well.
All in all just splurge the extra 30 or 40 to stay somewhere else. You'll be happy you did.
The apartment felt more retro than dated, although the mattresses are nearing the end of their life span. Honestly though, I had the same feeling at most of the places we stayed in New Zealand, so that may be a personal issue of mine.
