Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Admirals View for 4 nights with great views across the bay to Russell.
Our room was upstairs and there is no lift but the stairs are manageable. Car parking is available close to the rooms and is off the street.
We received a very warm welome from Craig who gave us lots of information and took us to our room - a rarity these days.
Our room was well set up, with a kitchen with small fridge, cook top and microwave Fresh milk is provided on arrival and a roll of paper towel is in the kitchen.
The lounge area is set up to take advantage of the view and a balcony with outdoor furniture allowed us to go outside to take in even more of the views out over the Bay.
The bed was very comfy with good linen, the bathroom spacious with good towels and there is an airconditioner.
It's about a 5 min walk along the beachfront to cafes, a small supermarket, the isite and the ferry to Russell and the boats which cruise around the Bay of Islands.
Tour buses will pick up at the end of the driveway.
Highly reccomended

+1
We stayed for 2 nights from 17th March in a standard studio room, we were given room 10 on the ground floor. This was our first experience of staying in a motel so we were not too sure what to expect. We were greeted very warmly on arrival and shown to our room and given some milk for the fridge should we need it. The room was quite big, it had a small kitchen area which we didn't use, this part of the room could do with a little overhaul. The bed was comfortable and the room had sky TV and air conditioning, but there is no safe in the room. The bathroom was a good size, with a good amount of towels. We were able to park our car outside the room, however the property was not busy as the coronavirus situation was already taking hold on tourism in the country. The location was good, you could walk to the centre of town within 5 to 10 minutes, would recommend Greens for Indian/Thai food.

Nga mihi, we appreciate you taking the time to post your review. We would love to upgrade the kitchen area, but Covid19 has put any upgrades we have planned on hold indefinitely. We will concentrate on providing a fully functioning kitchen and comfortable rooms until the world is able to travel again.

Lovely place to stay. Very friendly hosts, who know the area well and happy to give recommendations on great places to eat. Rooms are clean. We weren't expecting rooms to be cleaned daily due to current times, so it was a pleasant surprise to come back after a days sightseeing to find the beds made and fresh towels available. Very comfy beds. Easy walk into main area of Pahia

Perry and Craig are most gracious and welcoming hosts. The motel is on a hill an easy walk away from several good restaurants, the beech, hiking trails, convenience and bottle shops. Our 2nd floor room opened to a large veranda with deck chairs to sip drink and watch the bay activities. The room was large with a comfortable bed, comfortable wicker chairs in a seating area and so a small kitchen with a dining table for two. The bath was of good size with double sinks and a large, warm shower. The compendium in the room has many suggestions for activities and places to eat, along with sample menus. We had acquired colds prior to arrival and so were unable to take full advantage of all that Piahia and the Admiral’s View offered. We’ll be back! Thanks Penny and Craig!

Excellent kiwi hospitality and local knowledge from owners/hosts. We were given a beautiful clean spacious suite - kitchenette with stovetop, fridge, milk, hot drink choices, cafetière, microwave, toaster, electric frypan, cookware & dinnerware.
Huge spa bath with separate shower in the roomy bathroom. Comfy bed, lovely balcony with fabulous views. Heat pump / aircon and full (!!!! Hubby very happy) Sky and it even had My Sky to record favourite program whilst having dinner round the corner at the unique Tipsy Oyster. Peaceful, quiet location and we enjoyed a lovely flat walk along the shoreline to pier, shops and cafes … only a few minutes away. Rooms and outdoor seating areas perfectly situated to catch the sun all day long.
Winter rates are a great deal (ring Craig or Penny direct) better than some of those middlemen we’ve had problems with. We nicknamed our suite the Penthouse Honeymoon Suite after having such a lovely stay here!

We stayed here mid Dec for a few days in the 2 bedroom ground floor apartment, 2 adults & 2 young teenagers.
The hosts Penny & Craig were great hosts, they were very friendly & informative with recommendations of where to go & where to eat in the area (a comprehensive info book was also available in the apartment).
The apartment was very clean & tidy which was attended to daily by the friendly room service team. Location was in a quiet location a few minutes walk to the beach & a few minutes more to the town centre. We really enjoying staying here.
Would recommend.

What a great little place. Small, 2 storey, spacious apartments with everything you could possibly want. We were in room 4 which had a balcony at the front and 2 nice chairs to sit out on. The bed was slightly on the firm side but comfortable and was a 5ft queen size plus one single in the room. The bedding was cotton and pillows were good. Had air conditioning. The kitchenette was well stocked with fridge, microwave, hob, toaster and all the bits and pieces you could possibly need to do a light bit of cooking, all neatly laid out in the drawers, includes salt and pepper, dish clothes, washing up liquid, coffee, tea etc. Decent size bathroom and powerful shower. Everything clean and neat as a pin! Very quiet area and so quiet when we woke up in the morning. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach area and lots of restaurants. We were recommended several places by the lady on reception but ended up at the blue door where we ate on both nights we stayed here. Highly recommend if you are staying in lovely Paihia.

Had to book a last minute accommodation for a guys only family trip up north. So thankful to have spoken to Craig who made us feel welcomed even before booking a room! Upon arrival, hubby and son were pleasantly surprised to find that their room was upgraded to a balcony suite without additional cost. The room was spacious and very clean. The best indicators for satisfaction were the excellent room heating, quiet environment, comfortable beds and strong wi-fi. The large shower in the bathroom had excellent pressure and quick to warm up. The kitchenette was fully equipped although it wasn't used much during this stay. A separate filtered water tap was a bonus. Looking forward for the whole family to have a longer stay at this lovely accommodation very soon!

The host was very helpful and happy. The suite was spotless and the daily housekeeping was a real bonus. As a family of five the suite still felt spacious and everything we needed was provided. The central location made our exploration of the area and dining a breeze.

Lovely place to stay - a quiet location without being far from everything you need. 5 min walk to restaurants and 10 mins to the wharf.
Very clean with comfortable beds & pillows. Nice crockery - a small thing but personal touch which makes you feel like the owners really care.
I stayed in a spa unit and enjoyed good water pressure with piping hot water. Good view for the limited time I spent in the unit during the day. No need to be on the waterfront.
Dvd player was a nice touch even though I didn't use it. And a very comprehensive guest directory including "things to do on a rainy day".
Lovely people & I would have no hesitation in staying again.

Sorry, can't help. All my journey's were by car. Hope you are successful in your quest. The place was excellent and is a short walk into the same town and ocean front.
It is around 10 minutes walk along Marsden Road and turn right to Kings Road and then Macmurray Road. The Google map in this page will show the details. It is a family run business and the manager and his wife are extremely helpful. Remember to bring sunscreen and clothes to change for sand surfing at Ninety Mile Beach. Enjoy.
