Ken greeted us and both Ken and Ali were fabulous hosts. The cabin was well appointed and equipped. Our view was spectacular as our deck looked out on the Bay of Islands. We stayed 5 nights and loved the area. Ken gave us great advice on places to see, restaurants, tour companies and even the weather. Everything was clean and and worked well. Ken provided us with beach towels, new condiments everyday, as well as insuring that we had all we needed. I would highly recommend Bay Cabins and took a few cards to give to friends. It is affordable and wonderful.

Room Tip: Each couple has a cabin with a deck. Ask for a Bay view.

We choose this place as a last minute change in our plans caused us to need a motel for a couple of days. Ken and Ali are lovely hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. They even upgraded us to a room with a view when a minor issue with our original room's water (spotted by a cleaner) meant some repairs needed to happen during our stay, when really there was no need to offer us anything.

The motel location is in downtown Paihia, so a short walk to everything the centre of town has to offer. We had a great time, while we were here and would recommend it to anyone thinking of a central Paihia stay.

The rooms are freshly refurbished, and the ones we stayed in had cooking amenities. Both cabins we stayed in were very clean and comfortable.

We stayed in Cabin 8 for 4 nights over NY. Highly recommend this particular unit if you don’t mind a few stairs as it’s the unit right at the top offering a good view and more privacy. The unit is situated beside a native rimu tree and pohutukawa which were full of tui and other native birds - lovely to wake up to.
The motel is really close to town - only a couple of minutes walk to two supermarkets and all the restaurants and shops.
Bathroom is a bit narrow but overall the cabin was sufficient for two people and had everything we needed for the stay. There is a heat pump to keep the unit cool.
Owners were very friendly and welcoming and happy to offer local advice.
We definitely recommend this motel and would stay here again.

Lovely hosts, great location which was a quick walk to Ferry and i site, stunning room with all of the amenities, beautiful surround, good views, fair price, great communication. I had asked to leave my car parked at the place of accomadation after check out for a day trip to The Hole in the Rock, Otehei Bay and Russel via Ferry, as there was a free park, they were happy to oblige and even called to check I was okay as I hasn't arrived back by 9pm at night to pick up my car.
Also I left some things behind and they had no hassle sending them to my home address for me via post.
Will 100% stay again.
Look no further, this is the place or stay!

My wife and I stayed at Bay Cabinz for three nights as a base to explore The Bay of Islands. It proved to be the perfect location. Our host Ali was brilliant. Acted as the point of contact when our luggage failed to arrive on our flight with us. She called us when the luggage eventually arrived and kept it safe while we explored the town.
The accommodation is perfect very comfortable, very clean and had everything we needed. The shower was really good, plenty of complementary tea/coffee, a lovely balcony area with an amazing view.
Ali was available to help with any of our enquiries and made great recommendations for food venues, bars and trips.
We were let down by local taxis for our return transfer to the airport and Ali got up at 04:30 to take us and ensure we got our flight. Book your transfers in advance, you will not save anything by waiting until you get there to book.
We loved our time there and it was a highlight of our 3 weeks touring NZ.

Lovely welcome on our arrival. However this was probably the smallest accommodation we stayed in on our trip (out of 18) and our 3rd most expensive. Whilst it is lovely and cosy I did feel it was over priced and the kitchen area was tiny.

A tiny house experience in the trees. Great location a short walk to everything and very quiet. The owners are absolutely amazing. So accommodating. My husband hurt his foot and Ken drove us to our next days activity. Small kitchen and lovely porch. Updated lodging with a private feeling. Flowers and bird song abound

Private and quiet cabins which are nice and clean. Very tranquil, could hear native birds singing. Friendly staff, short walk to town and beach, air con in cabins and ceiling fan. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 3 nights in these cute little cabins. You have everything you need. Cosy spotlessly clean and a nice balcony with beautiful gardens and a view of the sea in the distance. We had a great stay and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Close to all amenities. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again if in the area.
