There needs to be a few rules in place, and a bit better communication from management. We had booked this place in the middle of the year. Went back to check our online booking again in November to see that it was going to be "party central/ booze time" from December 29- January 4". Thankfully we were checking out on the 29th. The preperations for the party left us wondering what actually goes on there.(?) They were removing all the picnic tables, draining the swimming pool, dismantling the trampoline!!!

Found it very noisey at night with people still making meals at 2.20am in the BBQ area. If not eating, they were sitting at the tables drinking and talking loudly.

I went to post a postcard home, and was charged $2 to post a postcard which was also charged at $4. The standard price is $1 postage within NZ, and a postcard is $1.80... rip off!!

The laundry was very well used and not sure if it was being used by staff, as the piles of sheets on the floor made you think staff were using it. WHY not use there on facilities.
You have to pay $2 per load, and then have some idiot come along and open the machine halfway through the cycle just to check if your machine is finished, so it stops the machine, and finishes the cycle, meaning you have to then start all over again by paying another $2.
The kitchen hot plates are so old. No wonder they have chairs in front of the hot plates/ovens, as you have to wait so long for anything to heat up.

The spot is a bit overrated. Yes it has a river, but you can't do anything on it. Yes it has the palm trees, and nice flowers etc. and the grounds are well kept, BUT it is a bit of a drive out of PAIHIA if you want to do the beach and Waitangi as well.

My husband and I went along with our whanau on a quick weekend trip away. They had booked us into a front studio unit with our son but our moko wanted to come. The lady owner did not charge us for our moko which was so generous of her. The unit was very clean and tidy had coffee, tea and milk available it was so presentable. The swimming pool was just across from our unit so the kids wanted to swim straight away. Walked around the grounds had a beautiful river and the facilities were clean loved the disco light in the toilet and I could see how the lady owner was always busy. Our kids even swam in the rain until she came to clean the pool. I just hope that when I went to vacuum the unit I put the chairs on the glass table which I think I scratched so sorry. I will have to see her about that next time I stay which we definitely would love to stay again. Blessings!!

Room Tip: Studio unit B has the open door to the toilet which I think is better access than Studio unit A.

We had the three bedroom apartment which was very comfortable and reasonably spacious. Lovely outdoor area with a good barbecue. Jan was incredibly helpful with advice, bookings and extra towels. It’s an easy 10-15 minute walk into the main part of town to get boats etc. there is a good supermarket almost opposite which is really convenient if you want to cook some meals for yourself.
It’s a great base for the Bay of Islands.

Friendly staff. I told them the cutlery and crockery are different as they supplied in the cupboard. They brought us hips. The wonderful thing is a little fridge inside the cabin. No need to label and put into common fridge. I like the marquee and enjoyed cooking and eating the meals there. Love this holiday park

We arrived Monday the 23rd January and left today the 29th January fo avoid the next weather bomb. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Plenty of room and good amenities. Certainly worth every penny. NZMCA members discount. Only 8 kilometres Paihia and 9 kilometres to KeriKeri and about 12 kilometres to KawaKawa. It has a lovely pool and plenty of powered and non powered sites. The staff were very friendly.

Booked and paid for 2 nights in advance for powered RV site and family trailer tent. Unfortunately because of extreme weather in Auckland 370mm rain fell overnight and a state emergency order we were unable to get there due to land slips and flooding. Please note there are NO REFUNDS or Discounts as a good will gesture. Really really disappointed with this holiday park! Wouldn’t ever stay now and definitely wouldn’t recommend. A poor show!!!!

As a family we stayed in their yurts and absolutely loved it. Very quiet and fabulous sceneries right next to the waitangi river. Clean campground, great pool for the kids, playground and nice facilities.
A great hidden gem in the bay of islands but not too far out of town either.

Well be back for sure and will defenitely stay for a longer period next time.
The people running the campground is great as well, very accommodating.

Thanks heaps guys. See you soon

Grant and Lee are so helpful and friendly. Nothing is to much trouble. The park is beautiful and kept immaculate. The park has cabins, tent sites, and motorhome powered and unpowered sites. Lovely trees and a river running right beside the park.

hi Linda, sorry...we really don't know. As we've said, we enjoyed the 'wild' lodge. And loved it! anyway, this is a very enjoyable place, worth the visit. Enjoy your stay.
