Great place to stop for a couple of nights. Super friendly hosts. Traveling with a family of 7 adults and 2 small children. 2 motorhomes and then a couple decided to grab an apartment. Super easy parking for motorhomes with plenty of room. No common area for cooking or eating but toilets and showers were clean. Be aware you do need to pay for the hot water in the showers. Easy walk to Countdown supermarket across the road. Careful the host may advise it's a 10-minute walk to everything but unless she walks super fast, it's not. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to Waitangi Grounds but it is a very easy and scenic walk. It's more like a 30-40 minute walk to Central Paihia so recommend driving but the main carpark does have motorhome parking for a reasonable cost so suggest driving there to catch the Ferries. Apartment: Fantastic apartment. Just gorgeous. Beautiful decor, super clean, amazing hot shower, super large living/sleeping area. Cannot fault and highly recommend. Please book direct from their website and support local businesses.…
We stayed in the Campervan Park over a year ago and I've been meaning to write a review since then. We had a wonderful and surprising experience because of the weather. We were in our rooftent during the off season, so it was very quiet. We were very happy, enjoying the peace and quiet, the bbq / kitchen / communal shelter area, when the weather changed dramatically and the heavens opened. While we were happy to tough it out in our rooftent, Jan came to the rescue and insisted (in the nicest possible way) that we move into the apartments, as the weather forecast was the worst she had ever seen. Needless to say, we had a very luxurious night in a beautiful apartment. While we were pleased to see the next morning that our tent had withstood the torrential rain, we certainly enjoyed the upmarket accommodation. Thank you Jan for the memorable stay. We look forward to staying again, in better weather.…
Booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one…. Constant road noise was not ideal. Our site was also right next to the dump station… asked if we could move site but we’re offered one that was so uneven it would have made for a very uncomfortable night. Also , after dark it turned out that we had the solo security light right next to our van The showers were hot but both the toilets and showers are over due a decent clean. Overall very average and will look elsewhere next time we are in Paihia.
Other than the excellent camping facilities and amenities, Jan and the BOICVP staff were so accomodating and helpful! Assisted in fishing charter, doggy sitting and frequently checking up on us during our stay! Thank you and definately a massive recommendation!!
A beautiful campsite with a lovely staff! Jeanne and Oliver the third welcomed us with open arms and made it feel like home. Facilities were sparkling cleaned and the location is ideal if you want to walk from town. Amazing trip! We will definitely be back soon.
This was our second visit to this camper park because we enjoyed it so much the first time! The sites are sectioned well with shade from small trees. Always well mowed and drinking water and benches available. Good location for walking around, maybe 2 minutes to countdown, 5 minutes to beach, 10-15 minutes to restaurants. Good wifi! Super spacious and clean toilets. Small laundry room with kettle and toaster. Big dishwashing station. No kitchen but we used to benches for cooking breakfast in the sun on our little cooker. We will be back :)
Great two nights stay, our second visit here. Dog friendly Kizzy very happy. Power and non power sites. No kitchen but nice BBQ area. Facilities are great with a shower suitable for a disabled person. Owner friendly and helpful. Will stay again between the olive trees.
Small campground, very pretty, super friendly hosts, huge showers, dog friendly. Owner has a dog too, so genuinely welcoming of our two big dogs. Showers are coin operated ($2 coin) so stock up on these when you check in, as office is not staffed for quite a large part of the day. They also own the holiday apartments next door. Five minute walk to the beach and Countdown is across the road.
We initially drove past the Bay of Islands Holiday Park and Apartments heading for another and so pleased we did a u-turn with Jan returning our missed call when we were on the way. An absolute fabulous camper, caravan and tent park with apartments at the rear of the property. Each spot is separated by Olive trees, the park and amenities (which are fully wheel chair accessible) are sparkling clean with everything you'll require. And if they don't have it, Jan would just about move heaven and earth to source it. Jan and her gorgeous side kick Ollie are delightful - Jan was so friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to, places to go and even organised a cruise for us after hours. We were initially only staying one night however stayed for 2 as it was that great. We enjoyed some great banter and look forward to returning. Thanks Jan & Ollie for everything. Best wishes & see you again soon :-) …
