This property is 6 minutes walk from the beach. Bay of Islands Holiday Apartments are located in Paihia, offering easy access to all of the Bay of Islands charms. We rang Jan direct and received a better deal than had we booked online. From the very first contact, Jan was helpful, friendly and a wonderful host.
The apartments support eco ideals so are set amongst the trees and each unit cannot really see the other units which is peaceful. The park is a 900m walk to town and the wharf, mostly along the ocean front, (should you want to leave the car at home) and a Countdown (Woolworths) is conveniently two mins walk away plus a large service station selling fuel, essentials plus a mechanical workshop.
The apartment has been renovated tastefully and for two people is large, roomy and well stocked with all utensils you need to cook, prepare and eat at home. We were very happy to have good sized coffee mugs unlike the last few places we have stayed!
The bed is huge, very comfortable and the bathroom is spacious, renovated: great shower.
Comfy two seater lounge but also a window seat that you can stretch out on and look at the lovely trees outside your window.
A washing machine and dryer for exclusive use of the five apartments is situated near the office.
A deck, bbq and outdoor setting that could be used inside for dining complete the package.
We felt it was very good value, having stayed in Hotels for the past 2.5 weeks and it measured up extremely well for price and has been the best for host service.
The apartments are advertised as not serviced daily but we were pleasantly surprised to have fresh towels and a clean when we came back after our second day sightseeing.
We were so happy here we booked a further night and it was a great base to explore all that this area has to offer.
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and recommend it highly.

We really enjoyed our time in this comfortable apartment, which was very well equipped and set in sub-tropical planting to give a wonderfully relaxed and private feel. Paihia was our first stop on a six week tour of NZ and this was the ideal place to unwind for a few days after a long and tiring journey from the UK
The site manager, Jan, was friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout provided tips to help us make the most of our stay
The location was perfect for us with just a short walk to the supermarket, beach and town. It is also just a short walk to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Our visit there to see the Māori cultural experience was a highlight and we went back for a second day (included in the price of the entry ticket). The staff were all super friendly and informative. Would also recommend taking the ferry over to Russell. The area around the ferry landing is pretty and has lots of options for a relaxing lunch overlooking the beach, but I would also suggest taking the 15 mins walk across to Long Beach, which is stunning. Also recommend visiting Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island, either as part of a boat trip around the islands or as a direct return ferry trip. I was very sceptical but the visit there was another highlight for us

Our stay in a studio apartment met our every need. The studio was very tidy & practically set up with everything we needed.
The large bed we found extremely comfortable.
We enjoyed being nestled in the bush away from the hustle and bustle!
The location is great with the main swimming beach at the end of the road & lots of parking to walk into Paihia township.
Jan the proprietor was extremely friendly, welcoming & knowledgeable on the surrounding area.

Park up here 6 or 8 times a year, best showers I have come across and always spotless, with repeat cleanings during the day. Lovely environment among the olive grove. Always look forward to coming back.

We stayed two nights with our two boys. The apartment smelt musty, we thought it may have been just the humid day but it didn't get better the next day. We have stayed all over the North Island on this trip and this accommodation was not value for money compared to other places we have stayed. It needs a really good clean, the toilet seat was broken and their was a dodgy looking switch in the kitchen. The bottom bedroom was dungeon like coupled with the musty smell. Also no mention or sighting of a spa. It is a great location so could be great.

My family and I stayed 2 nights at the Bay of Islands holiday apartments- in the holiday cottages . The accommodation is ok , however the BBQ needs to be repaired -it was rusted and not stable. The cottages need a good deep clean - there were stains on some of the furniture .For the amount we were charged I have higher expectations of cleanliness and amenities. There was a distinct price / value mismatch . I recognize that our stay coincided with peak holiday time , however the price / value gap was too large .

Apartment was very clean and the balcony area was lovely with great views and at night was very peaceful. The apartment would probably be better suited for a family, as we were two couples there wasn’t a huge amount of privacy with one bed in the living area and a separate bedroom downstairs with no door. We did really enjoy our stay here. They were very eco friendly which is great to see and the beach/town is only around a 15 minute walk away so location is good.

Location is close to town, apartments are great and have everything you need. Staff were really helpful to make sure we had all the info we needed for the local area, especially for places we could go with our dog. Highly recommend, would happily stay again when we are in the area.

We really valued our stay at BoI Apartments. From the start Jan was helpful and took great initiative to ensure that our trip would work as planned. We were doing a combination of boating and cycling the Twin Coast with three kids so we had a lot of gear and a lot of questions. The family apartment we had was spacious upstairs, and had the amenities we needed. The downstairs was fine for our kids, it’s a small room with three single beds but we were prepared to be sharing one large space so it was a bonus for us. Being amongst the trees is fab and we used the bbq and the balcony. Bonus that Woolworths is across the road. We are hoping to stay again in the future.

I do not recommend staying here, there's much better places in Paihia. Here's the truth:
1. The apartments are actually connected to a campsite. It feels like you are at a trailer park.
2. Apartments do not fit the description and toilets are like being in a public hospital. The worst hotel toilet I've ever seen
3. Service is terrible - the lady at reception is nasty to customers.
4. Noisy - apartments/trailer park is on a busy road.
