The Bishop Selwyn is a great resort. We stayed in a Disabled unit. The Bathroom was spacious and plenty of room for the Wheelchair to maneuver around. The resort was very close to the centre of Paihia but very quiet. Look forward to visiting again

We really enjoyed and loved our stay. We had a spacious clean modern 2 bedroom unit with amazing sea views, good heating, swimming pool and spa, large kitchen and so close and handy to everything. The service was helpful and resort was quiet.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel last month for a week. It was absolute bliss. We were allocated a one bedroom 2 bathroom flat that was so well appointed and equipped I would have been happy to live there on a permanent basis. 2 min walk to the beach and surrounded by restraunts what more could one ask for.

Another wonderful time share property. We stayed a week and found our unit very spacious and comfortable. Located in the heart of everything. Very well equipped and maintained. Even a veggie and herb garden for guests. Hope to return again.

If you are heading to the Bay of Islands, a beautiful part of New Zealand or the world for that matter and want to be in the centre of the action I have nothing but praise for this little gem. Situated right in the heart of Paihia, amid shops and eateries, a few minutes’ walk to the wharf the centre of all the activities, this was a great choice. It is well run by a couple of lovely Kiwis whose local knowledge and willingness to share just made the experience even better. The apartments are spacious and well serviced to allow you to just survive or cook up a gourmet meal. The main ensuite even features a bath, as well as shower, bidet etc. Swimming pool, sauna, spa, barbecues and games room, and even a welcome sausage sizzle are all features.

A great place to base a Bay of Islands experience. The Hole in the Rock is great and if the tide is right you can go through, Swim with the Dolphins can be included. Bus trip to Cape Reinga with option to board down the sandhills.

Is a classy well located Resort - a stone throw away from the shops/ferries etc. Amenities include spa pools (inside and outside), swimming pool, games room (with table tennis table, pool table, football table game, small library, many board games and videos available, and large tv). Good bikes to use, nearby tennis courts to use.
Apartments are spacious and have everything you need. TV in every room to keep the different age groups happy. Kitchen is well equipped.
We enjoy sitting outside on your private deck during the day overlooking the pool, bbq etc or if in a front apartment overlooking the town and the seaview in the distance while having a drink and a chat. We tend to visit early October each year. There is heaps to do/see in the area.

We stayed a week in a one bedroom apartment. The apartment is roomy for us and was spotlessly clean. Excellent bathrooms (2) all clean and spacious.Very well equipped kitchen etc. Laundry with a dryer and drying rack for pool /hot tub towels. Everything is handy, 20 minute walk to the Treaty grounds 5 minutes to the ferry. Quite quiet. Easy parking.

Well that is a difficult question. The west coast beaches have black sand and the east white/golden sands. On the west side there is a gannet colony at Muriwai and good surfing . Further north are the Kaipara and Hokianga harbours very scenic less populated, Kauri forests and a sense of being back in time. Auckland to Paihia the east side is busy but scenic. Waiwera has hot mineral pools roads are busy but there is a toll road to dodge some of the traffic. I suggest that you go to the Automobile Association to get maps and chat with them.
