Paihia Star Motel was one of our favorite places to stay on our recent trip to NZ. It wasn't the fanciest, but it was the one we felt the most comfortable in. The location is excellent, the propriater friendly and responsive, the rooms (we had 2 next door to each other for the 4 of us) were large, clean, comfortable, well equipped (even with a small kitchen) and quiet and the breakfast, which was delivered to us to eat on a small table outside our room was delicious and filling. We especially appreciated the choice of meals and the delightful presentation.

We had a 2 bedroomed apartment which was excellently maintained and had all the facilities we required. Very nice kitchen area, large living area and comfortable beds. As well as tea, coffee and home made cookies, the home made banana muffins, brought in straight out of the oven, were lovely.
Great self catering facilities.
Very close to the beach, bars, cafes and restaurants!
Day out in Waitangi complete with guided tour and cultural show and the 20 minute ferry crossing to Russell are a 'must'.

The most hospitable host was very accommodating. Fresh baked muffin upon arrival. Well appointed room, with excellent kitchen facilities. Lent us his umbrellas due the inclimate weather after checking out for our visit to the Waitangi Treaty site and Russell township. Also assisted with our laundry, when it was really not an available option. We would stay there anytime again. Thanks Trevor. Yes we returned the umbrellas.

Trevor and Litia make you feel very welcome in this small family motel. Spotlessly clean and comforable without pretentions. After returning from the day sailing on the R Tucker Thompson, found warm fresh mufins in our room! Lovely, quiet and restful in between activities. Good parking.

I turned 50 in November 2014 and I chose to have a holiday at Paihia. I stayed at this very high standard Motel, very pristine and I can't say enough how immaculate it was! It really was a 5 STARs motel! The owners Mr & Mrs Simpson welcome us and even invited us and other guests for dinner. It was a jolly great evening of delicious food, fine wine and great companies. I got to meet visitor from Germany, Canada, UK and NZ. It is only less than 5minutes walk to the wharf and the main shopping areas. I love this Motel and can't wait to go back there on my next holiday!
Thanks a million Litia and Trevor Simpson! You are both such a great couples, very friendly and very professional with a very high standard of care!

This small motel has apartment style rooms: ideal for our small family group. In a town full of places to stay this was a real gem: quiet, comfortable but still very close to the bridge (you can be in the water in a minute or two). Our hostess was very friendly and helpful; she made us feel very welcome.

This is an excellent motel. The room was immaculately clean and had everything you could ever need and more for a short stay. There is even a little terrace out the front. The owners are nearby and very helpful without being intrusive and I got the impression were more than happy to help you with anything you might need during your stay.

Location is perfect. Just a 2 min stroll to the sea and 10 minutes to the town centre. Couldn't ask for more.

We stayed at the hotel early March 2017. Highly Recommended.

Room 1 was large, clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The center of town is also only a few minutes walk away.

Also special thanks to the kind owners as they gave us a hand when I was particularly sick when we first arrived in the area.

A small motel at the southern end of the main road in Paihia. I believe it only has three rooms. Very pleasant without being sensational. Good price for Paihia.

Centrally located within a few minutes walk of the beach, restaurants and the town.

Others have praised the service - it was good but one of the owners was away so I am not really able to add much in this respect.
