Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Grange and Bronwynn are the perfect hosts and this was pur third time we have stayed at their beautifully maintained motel. It is just a perfect base for exploring the Bay of Islands area. The lovdly pool followed by a barbecue is just job after a hot days exploring or a trip on the unique R Tucker Thompspn sailing ship. Highly recommended 👍

We spent just one night here but really wish we could’ve stayed longer. The bed was amazing - it was firm and supportive and felt like my own bed back home 👍🏻 (no the run-of-the-mill squishy topper). The unit was immaculately clean and attractively decorated. The sparkling pool was too tempting to miss so had a wonderful swim after our day’s activities. Despite being near the main road, it was surprisingly quiet. We’d definitely recommend this as a great place to stay over.

First time this far north, paihia is a hidden gem in NZ . This hotel offers privacy and a place to relax after a days activities. The facilities include easy access to laundry, a pool and decent wifi. The rooms themselves are very tidy, clean and spacious for everyone. I recommend if your ever this way to stay here, especially for families, wonderful facility. Cheers.

Just back from 6 nights in this amazing motel - we can not rate the place highly enough. The owners are professional, friendly, and go out of their way to help. Everyone seems welcome, families, single travellers and couples. There is a lovely garden with a great swimming pool - feels as if you are somewhere tropical. A large number of chairs and sunbeds to relax after a cooling swim 2 BBQ's and an outside dining area made it easy to eat at the motel. We had a cabin, number 8 - very well equipped, very clean and all fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. It even had 2 decks, back and front, therefore you could decide to sit in the sun or shade. Can't wait to visit again

I booked this Motel as we needed a family room for our large boys and I wanted a pool. It's a little out of Paihia and the only walkable food outlet was closed for New Years. Because it's out of Paihia it's very quiet and it's a lovely country setting. The rooms are big and very clean. The pool was warm and I loved that the owners are thinking Eco in that there's no little single use soaps and shampoo and even the milk comes in a little reusable glass bottle. We've stayed in a lot of NZ motels this year and these accommodations are really well thought out.

Stayed overnight price for a family unit was $200 but exceptionally worth it. This unit had all the utensils and cutlery tea and milk just exactly like an ordinary home with all your necessary toiletry items provided. Definitely recommended accommodation

We live this place. It's really 4 star hotel (called motel in NZ). The hotel honor is very good person. We arrived late and they allowed us to check in even office was already closed. The room was super clean and comfortable. Beautiful garden with nice pool. I'm Highly recommending this place!

We stayed here for four nights - the room is clean, fresh and has been recently updated - just beautiful. The motel is set in a spacious garden-like setting with a swimming pool and bbq easily accessible from all areas of the motel. We woke each morning to the sun shining and a tui singing in the tree outside our window. Grange and Bronwyn are if not the perfect hosts then as close to perfect as they can be - a warm welcome on arrival and quickly checking to see if everything was to our satisfaction. They have recommendations of where to visit in this beautiful part of New Zealand and the recommendations were spot on. We visited Haruru Falls, Rainbow Falls in Kerikeri, Urupukapuka Island and can't recommend the area highly enough. We will certainly recommend Grange and Browyn and their lovely property to anyone who mentions they are visitng the winterless north of NZ. Stephanie & Brian

Just spent two days at this lovely motel, couldn’t ask for anything better just a short drive out of Paihia , we were surrounded by luscious gardens with a great pool my only wish was that the weather had been a little warmer so that we could of utilised the pool area more ,I must say there is nothing better than to have crisp fresh sheets on the bed , the rooms were spotless and very welcoming ,our host Bronwyn was very helpful in what to see as we only had a short stay , definitely would recommend this to anyone that is going to visit the bay of islands , thank you Bronwyn for your hospitality hopefully we will get to meet your husband next time we will try and get back sooner than later . My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. Perfect place to stay in the bay of islands area. A five minute drive from the town to rest and relax after a busy day sightseeing. Rooms are well maintained overlooking a beautiful pool and gardens. The owners were friendly and helpful and provided us with great local tips.
