Unfortunately I didn't get to stay here as my trip had to be cancelled due to COVID lockdown. I was not charged cancellation fees which I appreciated (not the hotel's fault there is a lockdown) and the communication was prompt and friendly. Hope to be able to stay here in future.
I really enjoyed my overnight stay and there's everything to like. I arrived before check in time and was welcomed by the very charming host. Lots of little extras in the room incl torches, stool for drying feet, cotton pad dispenser, 2 comfortable lovely armchairs, large lovely bright decor, spotlessly clean and an oh so comfortable large bed. Very quiet with only morning busy traffic, free wifi, large shower with great water pressure. The room heater was very adequate & good privacy. The host offered to get me an evening meal too. I recommend this accommodation and its location in Greenmeadows.
Greenmeadows on Gloucester Napier - Bed and Breakfast NZ We booked direct as we had been advised that booking would be cheaper than going through sites such as Booking.com as they take commission and that the motel owners would give discounts. Not Here, they charged $5 more than the Booking.com price. We were not shown any of the facilities in the room. The unit was clean as was the bathroom. However, you could smell the cooking (or take away) from the adjacent room and you could have joined in the conversation with the next room's occupants. We whispered. It took us a while to find the "kitchen" facilities. These were in a wardrobe and only a microwave, kettle, fridge and crockery. No milk was offered, nor was there the Breakfast we expected. We were told that the Supermarket was close and that they had a cafe. For 20 years we have stayed in motels in New Zealand from Kaitia to Te Anau and have always been offered either a carton or jug of milk. There is a Rule Book of Dos and Don'ts. Never have we seen such an extensive list, not did the list give leeway for any accidents. Every rule seemed to have a charge against it. Felt like we were at School. There was a plastic bag with something white inside beside the bed , but we did not look as it said it was the property of Greenmeadows. The only heating is an oil filled electric radiator, which gives little heat. There was not an electric blanket on the bed and we were cold overnight. The ear plugs were not used as they irritate my ears and so the road noise was intrusive. Parking is limited and difficult to manoeuvre. Getting in and out of the property from the main road is almost impossible at peak times. We only saw the owner once and she was busy in her office/cum sitting room. All in all we were pleased to move elsewhere in Napier. Not up to the standard we are used to for the price. Sorry…
Was so impressed with this place so close to all shops and supermarket hosts were very friendly and helpful such a great place with so much space and the kitchen with all kitchen requirements just amazing
Just spent a lovely couple of nights at Jenne 's lovely place in a studio apartment. The room was nicely decorated and had a large shower room. We received a friendly welcome from Jenne who had left us some homemade biscuits as a treat. We booked cycles from Bike about Tours who are based here and had a fantastic day cycling around the wineries in Hawkes Bay. Would recommend Greenmeadows to all
Me and my partner stayed for a couple nights the Greenmeadows on Gloucester our studio unit was very comfortable warm and had a a couple personal touches to the room as if we were home away from home...The bed was the comfiest had the best sleep ever warm and inviting we stayed when it wasn't so busy so we had no worries shops and supermarkets were just across the road so was very convenient for us I recommend this place. The owner was very lovely and had alot of good local Information for us. You can also hire bikes from them as well for a decent discounted price.
Less than ideal. No kitchen = just a cupboard with no stove or sink, and the crockery and cutlery all jumbled together on a shelf. There was a toaster, but we had to go searching for it! More suitable for backpackers than motel guests. Stayed for three nights (more fool us) and I never saw the owner at all! Very noisy location.
My parents and myself stayed for one night only and I can’t fault the place. Jenne was absolutely caring and such a joy to talk to. The beds in our unit were very comfy, huge and soft Which helped with a little sleep in the next day. The unit we stayed in was very clean and spotless and allowed for lots of fresh air and ample natural light. The bathroom was again very clean and the area was quiet and opposite to shops. Parking was tight as all the units were occupied but it was manageable and not really a bother. Thanks for a great stay.
This was a pleasant experience. The unit was cared for and you could feel the passion that the Motel was run with. Perfect cleaning and very nice service. Relatively new interior and all needed equipment was there. Location is at the outskirts of the city, you will need some transportation. Parking was a bit cramped though. Recommended. Thank you Greenmeadows.
We organised this with bike hire. Unfortunately the bike trip was washed out but we enjoyed our stay here. The unit was spotless with an excellent ensuite, comfy chairs and giant bed. There was a kitchenette but no sink so it was done for you. A good base for Napier and wineries.
