Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pulled Into The Quality Inn And Asked If There Was A Room Available For The Night As Hubby And I Were Doing A Road Trip For Our Holiday. Was Told That They Only Had The Executive Suite Left And We Could Have The Room For $219. Fantastic We Said We Will Take It. Fill Out All The Paper Work Go To Pay And Find Can't Pay Using Eftpos Had To Be Visa Debit, Credit Card Or Cash. Ok We Said We Can Go Across The Road And Get Cash. Paid For The Room And Then Get Thrown A Curve Ball, It Will Cost You Another $200 For Bond . Least To Say We Were A Bit Shocked As We Have NEVER Heard Of A Bond Being Paid At A Motel Before But They Assured Us We Would Get It Back When We Checked Out. Ok No Problem So We Paid The Bond Get Up To The Room And It Was NOT AN EXCEUTIVE SUITE But A Normal Single Room For A Couple. No Smoking Signs In The Room No Worries There Is The Small Balcony , Hello No Ash Trey, Go Down To The Front Desk And Ask About An Ash Trey To Be Told There Is A No Smoking Policy On The Motel Grounds. AT NO TIME BEFOREHAND Were We Told This. Was Not Happy To Find An Half Eaten Packet Of Biscuits On The Bench Either As We Were Told The Room Was Cleaned What Disappointment.

The bed was like a concrete wall, the pillows were to hard. So barely managed to sleep. Everything else was okay but I'm giving a 1 star review for the bed and the pricing, very overpriced for what you get. Would not stay again

Stayed for one night while touring North Island. We arrived quite late, but the receptionist was friendly, and helped getting our bags to our upstairs room. We managed to find at the last parking spot to squeeze in our little rental car. The room & bathroom were perfectly adequate and comfortable. Location is right on the seafront, and within a few mins walk of the interesting Art Deco buildings in Napier. The hotel has a restaurant serving buffet breakfasts. Choice of Continental or Cooked. Not the greatest Gourmet experience, but perfectly acceptable, and poplar with families with kids.

Spent a night here and it was very comfortable and a good place to stay. Clean, good night's sleep and ready to go again in the morning. Parking is a bit of a nightmare and if you have got a large SUV (or similar) then that might be a bit problematic.

Did not enjoy this hotel/motel it wasn’t a good experience . The reasons are very noisy people coming and going and letting doors bang , people shouting and talking loudly at 11.30 at night when we have to get up for a long flight and the same at 7.30 in the morning! The restaurant is very tired breakfast not good . The staff pleasant, rooms ok . But Napier is beautiful and surrounding areas just choose a different place to stay .

We booked 2 rooms, 4 children and 2 adults. Rooms were nice and spacious but our spa bath didn't work, rangehood didn't work and a bathroom fan also didn't work. The pool is nice and big but freezing! Not heated at all. We talked about our issues with the receptionist and manager both had an answer/excuse for the issues. Manager was quite rude about the pool and seemed to have heard it before.

Was prepared to give a 4/5 star review but was downgraded due to most pettiness of actions by the hotel and the adjacent restaurant. Went to the restaurant to get some ice for drinks in our room but was told I would have to pay for the paper cups that they wanted to provided the ice in. Went to reception to ask for assistance but was told that the restaurant is a separate business and couldn’t assist. Seriously I had just spent over $500 in accommodation and this is the type of customer service a hotel from a well known chain can provide. I cannot provide a good review and recommendation based on this serious lack of guest service. Will probably get the obligatory apologies from the manager of the hotel and the cop out comment about being a separate business but too little too late.

I felt that the reception staff didn't care. The room is tatty (carpet into kitchen fraying), dining chair decidedly unsafe (very rickety), only 2 chairs for a 3 sleep room, modernised shower BUT no soap/shampoo holder!! Noisy stairs and rooms upstairs. On the second night we returned to unit, beds not made (nothing left on beds to prevent it) 2 cups had been washed and clean bathmat BUT NO CLEAN TOWELS!! I felt quite unsafe. Had the "cleaners" just come in to do the dishes to look through our things??? Upon departure we mentioned to reception but he didn't seem to care!! I WILL NOT BE BACK

Average motel but the beds are comfortable. It’s dated, simple and nothing flash so don’t get your hopes up. But the staff are friendly and it’s a bed. Didn’t try the pool, and it is very convenient to much of Napier. Parking is easy but most rooms are up stairs.
