We were rescued by Penny and Michael as our accommodation which we had booked and paid for in full in November last year did not materialise as the owner had gone on holiday!!
We went to the I site in town who gave us our accommodation with Mission Vista. This was a self contained apartment with separate entrance completely self contained with good facilities, a lovely comfortable bed and good shower room.
Penny and Michael were the perfect hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Their home is directly opposite the Mission Winery the oldest winery in NZ with an interesting history.it also has a great restaurant which we visited twice during our four day visit. Michael drove us although you can walk to it. On the first night he drove us up to the restaurant and he was obviously well known there( his grand daughter works there).
On the second day he gave us his own personalised tour of Napier in his car showing us the delights of this Art Deco town, theatre and other significant sights including his school and old family home. It was fascinating to hear the history from a fourth generation Kiwi.
Having felt very disappointed about our non booking,as it transpired, we felt we were rescued by Penny and Michael and will be eternally grateful for their kind and hospitable treatment of two lost souls in Napier. Thanks again.
Alan& Sheila.

Booked this place for its proximity to Mission Estates so we could go down from Taupo for the Toto concert.
Well, what can we say. A warm greeting from Mike (as Penny was out). A lovely plate of piklets, butter and jam greeted us. Thank you, they were delicious.
Penny and Mike are great hosts. Each morning over breakfast we would hear of their adventures and tell them of ours. Great conversation.
Pennys pottery is so great I had to make a couple of purchases before I left. I could have spent a fortune in there. Check it out if you ever get to stay in this idilic place.
We hope to see them both again in Taupo very soon.
Thank you for a wonderful time.

We were lucky to have gotten this place during our short stay in Napier. The hosts were friendly and charming. The room was immaculate and I enjoyed spending every second there. I wish I could have stayed a little longer. Penny & Mike, you are both superstars!
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

We stayed with our two children for 2 nights with Penny & Mike. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the accommodation was perfect for our needs.

I must make a special mention to the hearty breakfasts that were provided.
Would certainly return -thank you for a pleasurable experience.

When staying at a home stay one of the most important things you want is to feel welcome and Mike and Penny do this exceptionally well. Greeted with freshly made pikelets on arrival and every afternoon after a hectic day out, Mike and Penny soon made us feel like we were old friends. In fact you really want to go back again just for a catchup. The accommodation was very comfortable and the air-conditioning was certainly a bonus in the extreme Napier heat. Penny's pottery is just beautiful and well worth checking out.

We stayed for 3 nights this weekend for the Mission concert, you can't get much closer to stay than across the road. Penny & Mike were great hosts & made us feel very welcome. Great breakfasts in the morning. Check out Penny's pottery, it's beautiful. Mike gave us tips for the vineyards to visit. We had an amazing weekend. Thanks guys!!

We had a wedding to attend at the Mission Estate, so we wanted to be somewhere close by for a quick Friday/Saturday night stay. Across the road couldn't be better.

I could write a huge novel about what they did, but I'll stick to bullet points:
- Picked us up from airport at 10.30pm
- Amazing breakfast
- Gave advice on where to go for a walk in the area
- Drove us across the road and up long driveway to Mission Estate because they knew I was wearing heels
-Told us there was 'no check out time, just whenever' because they weren't worried
- Drove us into town and got our luggage stored at another hotel while we wandered through town

I could not think of a better place to stay if you're in Napier for a wedding at Mission/Church Road. Location is great, hosts are amazing. I've already recommended to others.

If you are looking for home away from home with all the comforts and fantastic breakfasts then look no further than Mission Vista. Great beds, sky, own lounge, and much more. Your hosts Penny and Mike make you feel so welcome and I've heard most who stay here return many times over. Positioning is perfect for the Mission estate winery and Church Road winery. From our balcony we looked straight at the Mission and row after row of vines. I can't speak highly enough of our hosts and their fantastic B & B. We will be back.. Warning though, get in early with your bookings as we were lucky and made ours on the same day a group couldnt make that weekend. We took every room.
