Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A word of advice, never come and work here in the housekeeping department. The management is terrible. Not enough staff to clean the rooms so you have to mop up the dirty work. You are constantly under pressure. This work is physical but you never have any consideration. We worked so many overtime hours without ever being asked for our opinion. When we say "stop, we're tired, we've been working for 8 days without days off", the supervisor doesn't understand and becomes disrespectful. No respect for break times in the contract, only 15 minutes of break in 6 hours of work when we should have a 10 minute break and a 30 minute break to eat properly and not like robots. The staff forgets that we are humans and not robots. Not to mention the bad atmosphere between colleagues who, instead of taking the time to explain to you kindly, will sneer if you are not comfortable in English and let you do the dirty work. All hypocrites. The supervision team also needs to be respectful with its staff and not unfair as on certain occasions depending on mood swings, fortunately one was but she left. Worst job we've done. We have never seen so much turnover in a job. Maybe it’s time to ask why?

Great location and facilities BUT we were very uncomfortable with the large number of patched Mongrel Mob on site. Despite three complaints to staff and their "no gang insignia" policy nothing was done. Tried to contact Management but none available at weekend! A shame, we paid top dollar for facilities we felt unable to use.

Unfortunately all the accommodation apart from tent sites was booked out so we stayed in a tent but I must say that it's a camping ground like no other that I have experienced exceptionally clean tidy and fresh with plenty of charging stations for phones tablets etc. Plenty of activities for all and superb playground for children not to mention swimming pool and has so much more to offer excellent laundry kitchen and bathroom facilities. I would highly recommend this place.

We stumbled across Kennedy Park Resort quite by mistake yet what a fabulous mistake it was - parklike & immacukate grounds, very welcoming  & friendly crew. Close proximity to Napier CBD ($10--12 @Uber & Taxi), accommodation options to suit along with amenities for singles, couples, families - all age groups & accomodation styles / budgets catered for - camping (non-powered & powered), cabins, motel units, apartments. On-site restaurant & bar, fully equipped kitchen & bbq area, fish filleting area,  laundry, chiller room boxes, activity room for the children, playgrounds for all ages, resort like swimming pool area, supermarkets & liquor stores within walking distance. Definitely be back as have family in Napier and close to some of our favourite outdoor activities. Thanks heaps for an awesome stay.

Room 22 smelt musty, there was a daddy longlegs hanging in its web by the TV and there were little dust mite type things flying about. We booked for 3 nights but left after 2. What happened to deep cleaning? We also stayed at 4 Top 10 camps and the cleaning at these was always 5/5

We stayed in the 1 Bedroom Holiday Unit for perfect for just mum, dad and our 3 year son. It had the main bed in the 'living' room (with TV) and the separate bed with 2 single beds to shut away the child. I would suggest requesting a room NOT on the ground floor as the soundproofing in these rooms are very minimal. I could hear everyone upstairs who apparently liked to stay up past 2am at the kitchen table dragging their chairs along the floor. The grounds were great though with plenty of entertainment for pre-schoolers with the playground, tramps and heated pool all onsite. Wifi was pretty poor and didnt really work so ended up using my own data Stay did the job

we had a camp site booked for the Rod Stewart concert, unfortunately this was cancelled but we decided to get away for the weekend anyway, and upgraded to a kitchen cabin at the same time. Everything feels lovely and new, our cabin had a large fridge, gas hob, full oven, microwave, jug, toaster etc. Only thing missing was a dishwasher but that’s what kids are for! The shower / toilet block also felt brand new, only complaint being you have to press a button to get water and it didn’t last very long, so you do get a bit of a workout if you need to wash your hair. kids love the bouncy pillow and pool which was lovely and warm. As keen chess players, my final suggestion would be to make the squares bigger on the outside chess game so it’s more to scale. perhaps remove the paving stones and go all the way to the edge of the square, you could paint the squares on a sheet of plywood even. Look forward to returning next time we visit napier.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit which was adequate, small, had everything you needed but I thought extremely over priced for what you got room wise, compared to elsewhere. The housekeeping staff were lovely. Our family with 5 children stayed in a lodge, so we got to see the shared facilities and they were amazing, so new and clean and so well equipped. The bathrooms had blow wavers! the kids just loved the pools, there were trikes to hire, a jumping pillow, playground and huge grounds. I was pretty amazed at how great this place is. The only downside was the bed was very very uncomfortable, and around the sides of the pool was very dirty, but did not stop everyone enjoying the pool. Fantastic facilities Napier. Our family has already booked to go back.

We were so looking forward to staying here and booked a week for a family holiday. But we were disappointed. The two rating is because the pool area and jumping pillow were good, but our two bedroom villa was really tired and the whole place was less than half full which gave it a sad and empty atmosphere. Our biggest issue however was that on going for a walk one evening we discovered to our surprise that there was a loosely fenced off space to one side that looked suspiciously like an MIQ facility. On googling we discovered that the holiday park is in fact being used as the Hawkes Bay MIQ facility. We were not warned about this either when we booked, before we arrived or on check-in. We left two days early, they kindly refunded our money, but it wasn't what we wanted from this break.

Hi Celia, we are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I have passed on your comments regarding your villa to management. We are also sorry that you were aware that Kennedy Park is being used as an MIQ for local residents unable to isolate at home. I have had a look at your booking and an email was sent out to the provided email address advising of our MIQ facility on the 6th December and it was received by the email address provided. Sorry you missed this important information.

Kennedy park is a great place but unfortunately we were in a ground floor room and the noise from above was awful. The sound just amplified through the floor making it really difficult for us and the children to get to sleep. We did ring to request a room transfer but there were no other options available. So unfortunately we checked out a day early as we were so tired and had a long drive home. Such a shame as it’s a great place. I’d go again but would rather camp. I have fed back to management that they should let people know if they are being booked into a ground floor unit. The units would also benefit from storage and at least a drying rack for togs and towels.
