Very hepful staff - we wanted a 2brm unit for 3 days but they had only 2 days available so booked a lesser family unit. However, one become available so we were able to have seaview 2brms for our whole stay. The second bedroom is a bit small when both people and luggage inside but we only wanted it for sleeping so no real issue. The Spa bath was lovely and it had a good amount of seating. The price was good probably as the decor is a little bit tired in places and there's no elevator to the second and third levels. We still thought it was good value and confortable for us.

This motel was such good value for money. The studio can sleep 4 and there is a massive spa bath in the main bedroom. Well stocked bathroom and right in the beach. Rosie OGradys has lovely pub food and. lone star worthy of a beer.

The reception staff were phenomenal and so helpful to us during our 11 night stay. Maddie and one other staff member ( sorry can not remember his name) were always accommodating if we had any questions or if we were not happy with something. Some of the room service attendants were also very friendly and helpful.
The room was fantastic and very roomy. LOVED the spa in the room! When you read about a spa in the room you expect one in the bathroom with the shower but not here!!! A full spa in the room was a great way to unwind on some of our stressful days.
The view to the beach was great.
Loved being able to go for a walk at night to see all the wonderful art lit up as it was all so close.
Plenty of parking was great too but I do think there should be allocated parking to each room.

I will however just mention this:
We were long stay visitors and the a couple of the room attendants were not too accommodating some days. We were supposed to have room service everyday but on a couple of consecutive days we had to ask for it to be done. The laundry lady got cranky all because we did not put our towels down on the floor and when we arrived back to our room later in the afternoon we noticed that nothing had been done to our room. When the cleaning staff came in they asked if we would like clean towels and we said yes please. Our bin had not been emptied so we knew nothing had been done besides towels dumped on our unmade bed. This happened a couple of times. When I asked to have our sheets changed after 3 days one of the attendants said oh I’ll do it tomorrow and I said that’s a waste of time as we will be leaving the following day after. She then said fine I’ll do it today then. Felt like it was a bit too much of an inconvenience.
We kept our room as clean as we could to make their job easy for them as we could see they were really busy some of the time. I will also mention the stairs were so noisy that every morning we were woken up with clang, clang, clang people going up and down. Not a lot could be done about it but just for your reference so you know what to expect. The walls were quite thin also and if inconsiderate people decided to have a spa after 10pm you will hear it so don’t try to sleep…

On a positive, this motel has a good location and the view was good if in a 2nd floor sea facing apartment ( if you're on the 3rd floor, all you see is trees).
Staff were helpful.
This motel needs some serious work. Door mechanisms were falling apart, large chunks of wall paper cracking off, holes in bathroom walls exposing wiring, spa bath in disrepair, window latches broken......
It is very over priced and outdated.
We booked a 2 bedroom family sea- view apartment. There is no lift so beware if you have mobility issues or small children. We noticed 3rd floor rooms were more comfy with extra couches and better kitchen facilities( we stayed in 3 different rooms over 11 nights total). All 3 rooms had holes in the bathroom walls( we moved due to easily accessible electrical wiring in the first room which is highly dangerous with a child in tow). Unless you're in a first floor room, the spa bath is just a tub under the shower in the bathroom and in disrepair( not the big spa you see on the website which was the draw card for us).
Also note that the second room is very small with just enough room for twin beds but not luggage. It was very claustrophobic.
While the cleaning staff were helpful and serviced our room daily, our bed sheets weren't changed over the 10 nights stayed even when my partner stripped the bed.
Overall, it really created tension during our stay.

We stayed in a family unit, facing the City. This Motel is in some serious need of some money being spent on it. Our floor level unit (No35) was in a state of disrepair. We had to be moved to another unit 4 hours later. A leak under the tiles in the bathroom in front of the toilet, made using the bathroom dangerous and unhygienic. The other unit(No38) was equally in disrepair. At least we had a TV in the main bedroom, it was missing in the previous unit. In both units there was holes in the wall, broken light switches, missing lampshades, blind in bathroom was seized in position, couldn’t lift it up or down or open it or close it. Skirting boards swollen and in need of replacement and a total repaint of the whole unit. Old blutak on the walls. Water leaking under the shower door when having a shower onto the bathroom floor, bath mat is soaking wet and the tiled floor like a skating rink.
The office staff were just there to take your money and hand over the door key, not interested in much else.
This was a very expensive nightly rate, we have stayed in Units within NZ, for $100.00 less a night and the facilities were clean, in good repair.
I would never stay at Beachfront Motel again.

As a family with a young child, our stay at this motel left us with mixed feelings. What we didn't realize upon booking was that this establishment was currently being used for emergency accommodation, a fact that was not disclosed anywhere. This knowledge might have affected our decision to stay here, especially considering the impact it had on our experience.

Firstly, our room was located on the third floor, which caused us considerable anxiety with a two-year-old in tow. The lack of information regarding the current use of the hotel made this aspect particularly unsettling. Additionally, the narrow hallway and odd placement of windows and vents contributed to a somewhat claustrophobic atmosphere.

The shower experience was less than ideal, with very low water pressure, making it difficult to shower comfortably. This was disappointing, especially after a long journey. However, we must commend the host for their helpfulness. They proactively called us to inquire about our arrival time and left the key out for us as the office was closing, which was a thoughtful gesture.

Overall, the room was clean, albeit with an odd layout. While the stay wasn't terrible, the lack of transparency regarding the hotel's current use and the inconveniences we encountered make it difficult for us to recommend this establishment for families, especially those with young children.

Me and my partner stayed in the one bedroom suite, room 13. We thought that by paying more we receive more, however, we have honestly stayed in places half the price that are twice as good. After 2 days we found a pair of mens underwear in the corner of the room, hidden behind a curtain, so much for the 'covid' clean, bathroom fan made a rattling noise for 3 minutes everytime it was used, carpet looked stained, frayed and grubby, wall paper peeling off walls at skirting boards, toilet flush was dodgy. We complained to staff at checkout who apologised insincerely and explained a renovation was planned. This is not a 4 star establishment and definitely not worth the price we paid, would not recommend.

Overnight stay, tipping down with rain so we were happy to collect food and eat in our very comfortable family unit - I'd booked a studio but we were given a bigger room, didn't take advantage of the spa bath but it was tempting. The kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfortable, shower pressure really excellent (just what you need after a day's driving. We were able to have a good walk along the waterfront next morning, the Beach Front Motel is well situated with access to tourist attractions. One small point - in the upstairs big units be careful of the top step, we put a dining chair on that step, it would be very easy to forget the step-down is there and would be easy to fall.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed!! I’ve never written a bad review before, but had to let others know. The mould in the rooms (multiple, including next to where my kids slept) was gross. Multiple areas with wallpaper coming away. Dirt on the walls. Light shades completely broken. Lights bulbs missing in bathroom. Mould on shower curtain. Yellow blankets (supposed to be white). We were in the 2 bedroom room. STAY AWAY. Paid $735 for 3 nights!! Can’t believe it. I’ve paid less for much nicer. Don’t even know how they can legally let people pay to stay in a room this bad!! Not once we’re towels replaced, bins emptied or toilet paper refreshed.

Room was very spacious, with a spa in the room, two basic arm chairs, set of drawers and a desk with a tv sitting on it.
The kitchenette was by the door on the left and the bathroom on the right.
Bathroom was clean but needs a refurbish to bring it into 2020. Toiletries provided each day, as was the tea and coffee etc., towels replaced as well.
The pillows were very thin so the second day of our stay I asked for more pillows which they brought to us.
The tv wasn't the best, couldn't find just normal channels, (1, 2, 3, etc just the +1 channels).
We had a ground floor room overlooking the sea, which was nice.
Outside our room where we parked our car, was the rubbish for the motel. It looked awful, I did think surely there could be an unobtrusive corner to put it.
We were in room 2, so being on the ground floor it was very noisy with people going up and down the stairs from about 6 in the morning. Very annoying. The stairs are metal.
