Property's Favourite Review
We stayed in the Cape View Apartment and it was absolutely magnificent. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Had comfortable beds and everything we need. Amazing apartment to be in to see the sunrise.

We were promised “5 star luxury” and received “3 star ordinariness”, however the overall experience warrants 1 star at best!!!! The room was misrepresented online on various websites, the pre arrival information was incorrect, communication with staff and management both pre-stay and post-stay was slow or non-existent, the hostess who checked us in was unprofessional and rude, the Guest Compendium was unwelcoming (“don’t do this” … “you will be charged extra for that”). The promised kitchenette (as per online listing) consisted of a walk-in wardrobe containing a bar fridge, kettle and mismatching crockery; the shared balcony (as shown in Studio room pictures online) was nowhere to be seen and the 5 star service was far from evident. We asked the hostess (via the intercom on the street as there was no phone in the room, and no reception area so we couldn’t physically find her) if we could borrow a toaster, but this request was declined, instead she directed us to a communal kitchen. Had we booked a backpackers by mistake! When I complained about the lack of kitchenette … she rudely hung up on me. For $250 per night the “5 star luxury accommodation” was, to put it crudely, a ‘rip off’. We wrote two emails to ‘management’ explaining our disappointment with The Dome, one during our stay, and the second after we returned home. Neither were answered!!!! Ironically, we did get a generic email from Cody Aldridge, the Manager requesting we post an online review!

We booked King size Room with Seaview for one night. We later decided to come to Napier for 2 nights. The room with Seaview was booked so we decided to take a room with street view for one night then shift. The street view room was a great size and lovely bed, though lacked any crockery or glasses. We were shifted to the Seaview room with great expectations, unfortunately were very disappointed as the room was very small, the windows were so dirty we could hardly see the sea. Trying to make a cup of tea was a challenge as the jug had to be placed on the floor. The aircon was very noisy but was told by onsite management this was normal. In summary we expected some special and in most cases this did not happen. The location of the Hotel is wonderful but parking is a challenge.

The Location of this place is wonderful, in close proximity to restaurants, shops and beach. The view out to the Pacific was wonderful. Unfortunately the day we stayed was a little overcast, with clouds on the horizon over which the sun had to appear. We walked down to the beach 10 minutes before sunrise and had a great start to the day. There were some disappointments with this place. The view of the Pacific was marred by very dirty windows, only one of which opened. The tea making facilities relied on the kettle being placed on the floor and plugged into a plug at floor level - on doing this, one realises that the fridge is not actually plugged in, and had not been chilling my cold food since the night before. When we arrived in the room the aircon was on full blast. After going out to dinner (and having turned of the aircon) we returned to the awful smell of old curry! This place is not worth the tariff charged given the lack of car parking, tea making facilities, and on site management.

This fantastic place is located so central to the Art Deco area, supper handy if you’re happy walking around discovering. Once we arrived into our room we discovered why this place has so many great reviews. Lots of space to make yourself very comfortable. Very clean, absolutely the most amazing sleep in the super comfortable bed, which came with plenty of pillows. Overall an awesome place to stay, highly recommended!

We were there for the Art Deco weekend, which had been unfortunately cancelled due to Covid, but we decided to still go anyway. We loved the location, we could walk to restaurants and all the things that were going on at the Shell, our room overlooked it so it was perfect. Parking is not on the premises but that didnt bother us as we could use the loading bay to unpack the car. Black out blinds would be a good idea for the room that we were in, Pacific studio 1 as the light outside lit the room up all night. King size bed was comfy though the headboard bashed everytime we moved in bed so we had to stuff a pillow behind it......We had to buy mugs and a teaspoon.....as the cups were far to small for anything other than an very small expresso. One other thing to note that the room is not serviced - we were there for 5 days......you can get the room serviced for an extra charge, but we felt we were paying enough. One last thing...on arrival we had no idea which floor to meet the manager on to get our keys, and we had to suss out how to use the keys some were swipe some were key....the front door swipe (blackone doesnt work).....took us ages to realise that there was another one that we could use.

Good sized room and huge window but the curtains wouldn't close so probably gave the neighbors a show .It was our anniversary. Also air-conditioning had a really loud noise every 2 minutes or so. Wouldn't stay again

We had an ocean front room, Fantastic sunrise, great views. Rooms size reasonable, Bathroom vanity a little on the small side for two people. Good central location. There is no one on site full time so check in timing needs to be good. Definitely would return

It’s not very clear with location and no car parking in front of motel also reserved car park is at another motel which make the logistics a bit difficult. The view is amazing after we swap to the penthouse. However it does came with quite a bit of disappointment with the beautiful penthouse and with the price we paid I would expect more. The carpet was dirty and lots of marks on it. The dishwasher were full of dishes on our arrival... and nothing for us to use to keep the kitchen clean.... well I believe the manger there tried her best to help and arrange... however one man job maybe a bit too much for her to handle. The first arrival on the studio room which we asked for a roll away bed and honestly that’s bed is just completely not “sleepable” the mattress is thinned than a duvet and at that point I just think no way I will ask my son to sleep in that few days.... and more suprised are that “bed” still will be charged for $90/night?! Anyway, I do can’t say anything more than the beautiful view which come with priceless memories.
