We were very pleasantly welcomed by a friend of the owners. Our studio was very tidy and functional. The environment is pretty and from walking distance to the coast, the city center. We have a lovely stay, thank you
Stayed in unit 8. Rachael & Dave are lovely & were very obliging in giving us room to park our trailer. The room was fantastic, modern and warm due to the new heat pump, and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again
We had a wonderful 4-night stay at this motel. Located in a very quiet street and only 5-7 minutes’ walk from downtown and 2 minutes from all the big supermarkets. The one-bedroom apartment was very clean, has everything for cooking, a very good shower, Rachel and her partner were very friendly and helped us with everything we needed and good advices what to do in town and in the surrounding area.
After events beyond our control, saw us stuck in Napier overnight, we checked in at Garden Court. Rachel met us on arrival with a huge smile. Her little dog was also very happy to met us: I think he's been a bit lonely over lockdown. ;) Rachel was extremely helpful and absolutely on to it with ensuring every was 'Level 2 Safe' during our stay. Our room was great, it was extremely clean, with a super comfy bed and lovely modern furnishings. If you're thinking of travelling soon or over the summer I'd highly recommend staying here. Close to town and with a nice big pool it would be a perfect stop for a work trip or for families. And, after lockdown, like so many New Zealand businesses I know your support would be ever so appreciated by this lovely lady. Thank you Rachel for making our unexpected stay so awesome. …
Rachel and Dave were so hospitable. They couldn't do enough for us. And I say us, as a colleague who was booked into a hotel on Marine Parade spent most of her time at Gardner Court. My unit was lovely. Large separate living area, full kitchen (partly renovated), huge bedroom and bathroom. The room was spotless. The motel is off the main street so quiet. Thank you Rachel for kindly lending us your art deco dresses for our function. And thank you for joining us at the deluxe queen suite for wine o'clock. Great company. Stay with Rachel and Dave, you won't regret it.
Travel to Napier every month and couldn't stay where I usually do. Thought I would try this place. It's in a quiet street which is nice. When I checked in the owner wasn't exactly friendly, the wife was though. Smelled like a fish and chip shop and it was a hassle to get a get receipt from him. The room itself was ok. Very basic for the price. Hard uncomfortable couch. The TV wasn't working properly, when I asked him about it he was like "well it was ok yesterday ". He came and had a look, couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and then just left! I went out to pick up some dinner, when I came back he was in the room! Kind of weird. So he had changed a tv cord and fixed it which was great. Also a dying cockroach in the kitchen which was gross. Overall not pleasant and well overpriced. …
Stayed one night on my way through Napier. Although an older property the room was immaculate, spotlessly clean and comfortable for an outstanding price. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Not being on a main road it was also very quiet. A very nice place to stay for a very nice price.
This was probably one of the most basic places we stayed in North Island. However we wanted somewhere central in Napier that didn't cost the earth and this did the job. Small compact units but clean and comfortable with basic cooking faciiities. We had a small patch of grass at the rear to sit out. Bathroom is small with not many 'products' but functional with plenty of hot water. There is a small unheated pool (refreshing!) and a BBQ area. Nice when it's really hot Rachel and Dave were friendly and welcoming and liaised with our wine tour company for us.The motel is in a nice quiet street which we appreciated. My only small niggle is that the rubbish bin is tiny if you're cooking and there aren't any recycling facilities.
We chose this motel because of it’s close walking proximity to Napier city and it’s on a quiet street. I found Rachel and Dave to be a lovely couple that were friendly and very accommodating. The motel itself is neat as a pin. We used the kitchen facilities including electric stove which did the job. Shower was fair, not high pressure but beautiful and warm. Oil plug in heating which actually heated the place up in no time was fine. We enjoyed our stay and thought it to be value for money. Thanks for a great week!
We were booked through Flight Centre to stay at another accommodation, but when we arrived, we were told they were double booked and had nowhere to put us. The accommodation involved called Rachel and Dave at Gardner Court Motel, who kindly agreed to put us up. While Gardner Court Motel is a basic level of accommodation, it had everything we needed, and Rachel and Dave were very friendly and gave us a choice of a lovely art deco house or a one bedroom unit. We chose the latter because Napier in September is cold and we wanted to be able to heat the place as much as possible, which was going to be easier in the smaller place. Rachel and Dave also lent us an umbrella - much needed at the time of our stay. They were lifesavers, because it is very disconcerting as an overseas tourist to turn up to your booked accommodation to be told there was nowhere for you to stay - I cannot speak highly enough of Rachel and Dave for putting us up on no notice.…
