We had a wonderful 4-night stay at this motel. Located in a very quiet street and only 5-7 minutes’ walk from downtown and 2 minutes from all the big supermarkets. The one-bedroom apartment was very clean, has everything for cooking, a very good shower, Rachel and her partner were very friendly and helped us with everything we needed and good advices what to do in town and in the surrounding area.

Amazing motel, quiet and in fantastic location within easy walking distance to countdown and the city centre. The loveliest, most engaging owners, very obliging and accommodating. They’ve done a lovely job renovating the 2 bedroom art deco apartment to its former era-glory. So tasteful and authentic, a real treasure and value for money. The 2 air con units are such a welcome touch, they were quiet and efficient and cooled the entire apartment and both bedrooms well in the warm weather. Cute decor, clean, super comfy beds and did I mention quiet?! 😀
Will definitely be back for another stay. 10/10

Can’t wait to come back. Welcoming, kind proprietors made a lovely start to our stay, and the two bedroom Art Deco suite was gorgeous! What a backdrop for a weekend in the Art Deco capital of NZ! Lovingly renovated with a constant supply of delightful authentic touches, but also mod conds like a Nespresso machine and two heat pumps that kept things cool despite the sun.

We felt very safe in the suburban location with an easy walk to supermarkets and the centre of town. We thought we’d have to Uber around, but that wasn’t necessary. And when they say quiet, they mean QUIET! We heard zero noise throughout our three-day stay.

See you next year! 10/10.

After events beyond our control, saw us stuck in Napier overnight, we checked in at Garden Court. Rachel met us on arrival with a huge smile. Her little dog was also very happy to met us: I think he's been a bit lonely over lockdown. ;) Rachel was extremely helpful and absolutely on to it with ensuring every was 'Level 2 Safe' during our stay. Our room was great, it was extremely clean, with a super comfy bed and lovely modern furnishings. If you're thinking of travelling soon or over the summer I'd highly recommend staying here. Close to town and with a nice big pool it would be a perfect stop for a work trip or for families. And, after lockdown, like so many New Zealand businesses I know your support would be ever so appreciated by this lovely lady. Thank you Rachel for making our unexpected stay so awesome.

We are having a 3 month holiday in NZ and have stayed at over 30 properties, This was by far the most expensive. We did not feel that we were getting value for money as many other properties were much cheaper and had better facilities. Our apartment was lacking a coffee plunger, side tables, a heated towel rail, sharp kitchern knives and only had one easy chair. Two single beds served as seating in the kitchen/living room. We had to take turns to use the chair for watching TV ! Rather disappointing in light of the high accommodation cost.

Stayed one night on my way through Napier. Although an older property the room was immaculate, spotlessly clean and comfortable for an outstanding price. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Not being on a main road it was also very quiet. A very nice place to stay for a very nice price.

This place in clean and spacious . It is located on a side street walking distance to the main sites and shopping downtown. The beds were "so--so" and the air con weak but it had a good shower and bathroom. The laundry was poor and the drier did not dry the clothes even after three tries. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful.
Overall, I would stay here again...

Travel to Napier every month and couldn't stay where I usually do. Thought I would try this place. It's in a quiet street which is nice. When I checked in the owner wasn't exactly friendly, the wife was though. Smelled like a fish and chip shop and it was a hassle to get a get receipt from him. The room itself was ok. Very basic for the price. Hard uncomfortable couch. The TV wasn't working properly, when I asked him about it he was like "well it was ok yesterday ". He came and had a look, couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and then just left! I went out to pick up some dinner, when I came back he was in the room! Kind of weird. So he had changed a tv cord and fixed it which was great. Also a dying cockroach in the kitchen which was gross. Overall not pleasant and well overpriced.

Rachel and Dave were so hospitable. They couldn't do enough for us. And I say us, as a colleague who was booked into a hotel on Marine Parade spent most of her time at Gardner Court.
My unit was lovely. Large separate living area, full kitchen (partly renovated), huge bedroom and bathroom. The room was spotless. The motel is off the main street so quiet.

Thank you Rachel for kindly lending us your art deco dresses for our function. And thank you for joining us at the deluxe queen suite for wine o'clock. Great company.

Stay with Rachel and Dave, you won't regret it.
