excellent. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, clean and well stocked with kitchen items and plenty of towels. Very quiet and the host was charming. Also gave a very good recommendation for a dinner spot. If we find ourselves in Napier again this will be our first pick

My husband and I stayed at the Fairley Lodge for a long weekend during the busy Christmas period and we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious, very clean and well equipped. Our suite was modern, tidy and every little detail had been thought through making our stay very comfortable. The private courtyard was a treat and the ability to park right outside our door made it easy to load/unload the car. The location was great being close to the beach, the harbour and nearby eateries, a short stroll from Napier town centre, with easy access to the main routes in and out of Napier.

Had the pleasure of staying at this establishment for 2x nights in a studio, (unit 13 tucked away in a little corner), whilst down for business last week. Jane and Hugh were very receptive and gave me a generously reasonable rate for both nights so that was much kindly appreciated. Only minor downside would be the tight parking at the rear although still reversed in safely. Good amenities close by, Westshore pub does pretty hearty meals, Takitimu seafoods etc.
tip: don’t leave the heat pump on overnight as I did on first night (duh), units are perfectly warm without it otherwise end up with crying windows in morning and a restless sleep.

We were in a street facing room, that had parking right outside the door. The room was was very clean and spacious and came with all the basic kitchen essentials you would need to prepare food.
Although the spa bath is a great option to have, you need to take caution when entering and exiting the bath to shower. Could be quite hazardous if you were to slip. The bath surround is quite high, we had to aid our 7 year old to get in and out and took caution ourselves. Maybe a hand rail would assist with safer access.
The room itself was a bit aged but very clean. Unfortunately we discovered a wood roach on the bed in the main bedroom. We have problems with these in our own home and knew this did not have a reflection on the cleanliness and hygiene of the room. That said we stripped both beds to make sure there weren't any lingering in the sheets.
Housekeeping was good after the first night but the 2nd morning they presented as we were preparing to head out and requested if we needed any towels and for us to gather and handover the rubbish bags from the kitchen and bathroom. We advised that we would be a further 15mins and the room would be available for servicing. Given it wasn't even 10am, we thought this was a reasonable request.
I placed the door handle sign requesting service when we left but when we returned the beds were still unmade and it seemed that they had only vacuumed the floor and nothing else.

We stay in Napier a lot and thought the location of this place was good and so booked here for a 3 nights stay for a Christmas break.

The room was getting very tired and needs updating.

One of the easy chairs was very unstable (and stained) and when you sat on it, it tilted violently. If you had sat on it with a hot drink, the drink would have landed all over you possibly scalding you ! We told one of the managers about this and asked for it to be replaced but it was never done - they obviously don't care much about their guests safety.

There was no house keeping done on Christmas Day but we weren't told about this when we booked or checked it - very poor customer service. Even when the room was serviced it was done to a minimal standard.

We wouldn't ever consider staying her again and do yourself a favour and look for somewhere else

Practical and functional room with easy access and plenty of space inside and bike storage. Helpful hosts. Location good for airport and cycle ways, reasonably close to harbour hospitality area but it's a drive into town (4km) . Bed fine, kitchenette adequate but would benefit from a hob for heating food as a microwave is not always practical. Sheets were clean/fresh and the room was serviced every day with good superficial cleaning. However the rooms need to refurbished as it is getting a bit tired, with a couple of chips out of the wall in the lounge , a half-plastered wall in the kitchen and some accumulated dust on the carpet in the corners of the bedroom. Value for money is below expectation really as the pricing was high considering the accommodation offered here and by competition. I might stay again but I would probably check out other options too. These are trying times for motel operators so I don't want to be over critical but under then circumstances they probably need to upgrade the place a bit to be more competitive. Hope this helps

Exactly what we needed. The room was warm, beds were comfortable and the bathroom & shower were great. Electric blankets and plenty of towels showed an understanding of what makes guests feel well cared for. Management made allowances for out late arrival.

Hugh & Jane are friendly and welcoming hosts. We had a very comfortable 4 night stay in a well-appointed two bedroomed unit.
The motel is in a great location for visiting Napier and Hastings and exploring further afield in Hawkes Bay.

A nice clean, comfortable motel, away from the city, but with easy access to cafes and restaurants.
The only downfall is that the shower is over the bath in most units, and the water pressure was very low if you wanted a to fill the spa bath.
The cleaning service was not as good as you would expect, as the cleaner only changed the towels in the bathroom and left again.

We had a great stay here with our grandkids, the units were really clean and everything we needed was there ready for us.
Motel is within 2 minutes drive from airport and less than 5 minutes to city centre, we positioned for our day trips and looking about locally. Beach on one side and estuary on the other.
Will stay there again next time.

I don't think so but we only had 3 rooms of the same type but I am sure that if you contact them they will give you an accurate answer.

Probably, both both room types would be big enough for 4 adults, two children, but it would be your preferred bedding arrangements which will determine what room you choose. The bedding configuration of each room type is as follows: a) Executive 2 bedrm, has a queen bed in each of the two bedrooms plus a pullout divan bed in the lounge area. The divan bed can also sleep two persons, and this bed can be easily folded away during the day. b) Two bedrm unit has 1 queen bed in first bedrm, and in the second bedrm there are two single beds. Again there is a pullout divan bed in the lounge area. Personally I would not recommend two adults to share the divan bed. The bed base support is not strong enough to prevent both larger and heavier adults from rolling together. It maybe a better option to have one adult couple in a studio room by themselves. Approach us directly and I am sure we could provide an attractive and competitive pricing option for your group once we know the bedding required for all members of your group. Cheers,Hugh.
