Our stay at the Nautilius was amazing. The room we had was on the third floor and we had to trudge those stairs however, our room was lovely and warm, clean and really cozy. We had such a beautiful view looking over towards the sea, especially in the morning absolutely stunning. The traffic was only noisy when the doors were open but we didn't mind and it settled down in the evening. The manager and cleaning staff were super friendly and helpful. Defs worth another visit sometime this year. I think the only little downside was my husband loves tea and the teabags were stale in his opinion.
Clean, tidy, central, fabulous view. We purchased a voucher through grab one. Just what we needed. Very comfortable, king bed, spa bath. We will be be back! I recommend this hotel. Enough room for the kids too.
The units have beautiful views - possibly best to check you are getting a sea view. Kitchen was pretty good. Plenty of cupboard space and basic gear. Mini bar drinks and snacks were all reasonably priced which was nice to see. A little noisy with the traffic and trucks going by but not too bad. Lovely waves crashing at night when all is quiet. Good deck seats to enjoy the views. Beds were comfy - although not without their marks on the bedding. A large hole in the tea towel made me wonder if the manager needs to keep a close eye on the simple things. Good black out curtains. Spa was pretty shallow to be honest, but fills quickly with fresh tap water - so possibly need to fill to the top to get a good soak. Pretty hard to get in and out of spa as there is a big wide rim around the bath - so previous gymnastics experience is helpful! Possibly better for younger agile guests! I wonder if they intended to make such a wide surround for it with no step. But if you can sit on the edge and swing your legs over - should not require an ACC form to be filled in! Staff were friendly.Unit was pretty clean except for the long black hair on the floor in places... and the obvious dirt and mould around the window and door frames - but with steam from the spa in the unit it would need constant wiping down to keep it clean.…
If you pay a bit more and get the corner premium suite, you will enjoy a much larger extra space area so you get a bedroom, a lounge and another bed in the lounge but off to the side. The large round bath is great but you must fill it right up if you want to get it above your belly button and you need to be quite flexible and physically able to get over a high, quite wide wall around the bath - not step up to this to get into our out of the bath. Keep the fan on and open the windows when the spa bath is filling and filled. Quit a lot of mould around the window frames - and in the shower but it is to be expected in a way - but it would not take much extra time, once a week for these to be washed down and wiped down. Also in between guests, the doors and windows for these units should be left open to air them out. But that is a management thing - great sea views and good heat pump in the unit to keep warm. In house restaurant is fantastic for dinners. Deserts are big enough for two easily. Having said that staff need to wear their masks all of the time - down round under your nose or off is a waste of time. And guests should be wearing one too in communal areas.…
Great Hotel, friendly staff and the best location in Napier opposite the ocean in Marine Parade, room big and very comfortable with big jacuzzi, walking distance to the beach, new Zealand aquarium and CBC I will recommend this Hotel.
