Upon arrival was treated wonderfully by reception. An hour later I popped down to reception to ask for a taxi to be booked for the next day and Candy (who is on reception) remembered my name. Her great attitude and personality brightened up a stressful trip for me (was in Hamilton for hospital procedure booked for next day). 5 stars out of 5. If I could I'd give her a higher score. She was wonderful throughout her shift as I kept popping back to reception until after dinner. The other reception staff were also extraordinarily wonderful, but I forgot to write down their names.
When I ordered dinner I had some special requests. I have dietry restrictions, Reece, the bar manager went above and beyond to make sure I got my meal editted to suit my dietry problems.... and I could tell when the meal came out that he had told the chef about my problems as the meal had been prepared and plated wonderfully for me. So 5 stars each to Reece and the Chef.
The room was clean and well stocked with everything the average visitor could need and the bed was comfortable enough that I got some sleep even with my health and mobility problems.
If you want a lovely place to stay while in Hamilton with awesome staff then I highly (happily) recommend Ibis Tainui Hamilton.

Good enough hotel.

Positives:
-gym
-location
-friendly staff

Negatives:
-no proper shampoos or soaps offered (instead, a large bottle of ghastly ‘face wash/shampoo/body wash’)
-parking is $38 extra
-tvs aren’t hooked up to the internet so you can’t use the casting option

If IBIS hotels in the UK were this quality I'd stay in them rather than opting for Premier Inns. The rooms in Hamilton are not large but clean, bright with new furniture and bathrooms and we got a comfortable bed, air con, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a fridge! Breakfast was good and included eggs cooked to order if requested. Staff were friendly and helpful. 24 hour guest laundry for small charge also a bonus. Re complaints about parking - in the UK we would always expect to pay to park in a City Centre hotel so maybe a cultural difference. We stayed in the hotel 16 years ago and it has improved no end! A lovely stay - thank you!

Stayed here for one night as my partner had heights training in Hamilton the next day.
I do recommend advertising it better on your website that you charge $32 for overnight parking as we were told that the casino “down the road” had free parking, We had been parked for 10 minutes but ended up getting charged $8 for trying to park and look for someone to speak with to get help at skyline as the ibis staff just point directly down the road with no instructions.
As someone not from Hamilton this was extremely exhausting at 12am.
We finally make it back to our room just to be told the person next to us is complaining about how loud we shut the door.

As a staff member of Accor this did not give me the heartist feeling of being at any other and actually made me feel quiet uncomfortable.

One of the face towels in our bathroom seemed like it was already used because it was wet. Food rubbish under the bed.

On a good note the house keeping lady and maintenance crew are extremely friendly and welcoming and I do want to thank the overnight person for finding us a park so late. Slept well just didn’t get enough of it. Disappointed with the stay

Since the refurbishment after it was a MIQ (Covid isolation) hotel I have always stayed in the Ibis when I am in Hamilton 3 or 4 times a year. It is a perfect location beside the Waikato River in the city. I eat my breakfast sitting on the deck overlooking the river and trees which is a great way to start the day. Breakfast (hot buffet and cold continental) is very good with everything I could want to choose from (scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes and hash browns as well as fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, coffee and teas). At the reception on the first floor there is a bar where food and drinks can be ordered throughout the day, and a lounge area and the deck to sit in. My room this time was on the 7th floor with a great view over the river and the city. The room is has everything I need for a great nights sleep. Comfortable beds, pillows and good bed linen. There is a desk and chair for working at and gazing out over the river! There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room along with bottled water. An iron and ironing board is included which is handy for me. The bathroom has a good shower and good towels and a hair dryer. Finally I always find the staff very welcoming and seem to remember me! I will keep coming back here.

Kia ora Kirkmaal. So pleased to learn that your recent stay with us was a breeze just as your previous ones with us. Stayed one night prior to departure home to Australia. Shortly after I checked out I received a text and phone message to say I'd left my iPad in the room. Unfortunately my Spark travel pack did not work (a common complaint about Stark) I did not receive them until I arrived in Brisbane, so I was then able to contact Ibis Tainui by phone and email and asked to pack and send my iPad to me. Customer Service Agent Marie organised this (my expense naturally) and my iPad arrived safely less than a week later. Brilliant service and greatly appreciated.

My actual one night stay at Ibis Tainui Hamilton was also excellent. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious (gnocchi then squid) and the breakfast, although typical of many hotel breakfasts, was very good with a few extras that I haven't seen in other Ibis breakfasts.

Room - very comfortable and clean.

Service - outstanding

another good stay mostly. however again they did not charge my e car, even though as i checked in they asked "would you like car charged?"
I think the ibis has very old e car chargers that do not fit my car. however there is a 3 pin plug they could use overnight and aside from that if the customer needs the car charged and you cant do it. the least you can do is tell the customer we cant charge the car, so they dont get an awful shock when they get in the car!

I stayed one night, the hotel is super nice, front desk staff incredible and rooms are just what you need for a short stay away. The room was not huge but well appointed and the bed was very comfortable

Parking is limited to valet parking only and was quite pricey.

Not a bad place to stay overall, though I never entered the restaurant etc. Room clean enough. No compendium was annoying, I had to figure out the WiFi myself, and too bad if I was wanting any other general information.
The valet parking should be optional, as I was not at all pleased or comfortable leaving my car and my keys who knows where. I would have checked straight back out but it was too late in the day for a 6 hour drive home. I wouldn't stay again for this reason.

Modern hotel in the centre of Hamilton, located by the river. Great place to explore Waikato river, taking the path below the hotel and crossing one of the bridges to make the loop back. Walking distance to many restaurants. No free parking near the hotel. Valet parking is $38 per day. Room was clean and comfortable.
