An MIQ experience not to be repeated. The room was clean with a huge bed but the shower room was tiny and the food was, with a few exceptions, horrible. The staff were all pleasant but the whole experience was horrible. The window didn't open so I was limited to recycled air and portable air units dotted along the corridor. The irony of this was watching a "freedom" protest parade outside through my non-opening window. The two exercise areas were limited in size and I didn't feel were large enough to be safe or separated sufficienly from others. The hotel did offer a limited snack/drink service but this wasn't great.
Stayed here for business twice in around March 2020 and was quite disappointed. I have stayed at the Ibis in Wellington many times before and expected the same level of service. The staff were friendly. They were busy upon arrival so was a long wait to check in, would have been great to have two staff on hand. I was tired after driving down from Auckland at 6 a.m. and working the whole day. The room was pleasant but a bit noisy unfortunately. The parking was a real big issue, lack of parking and I was not going to park off street. The food was really not that great, I ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. I returned to Hamilton the week after and did not check back into the Ibis.
Excellent staff who friendly, warm and so helpful! Room was clean and welcoming! Will definitely stay again! A big shout out to the valet who parked our vehicle, one of the female staff, and we didn't catch her name, you are awesome!
Always pleasant place to stay, friendly staff and good location for catching the bus to attend the Chiefs game, however now need to reserve a car park when booking as only a small number of car parks available.
Room was very small, we were on Level 7, therefore the whole night all we could hear was the drone of the air-conditioning units on the roof, very loud and very annoying. We had breakfast which was definitely not worth the amount we paid. All the food was cold, the sausages were not even cooked, the toaster kept tripping out, so the food was stone cold by the time you finally got to eat it. Will not go back to this hotel
This place is budget everywhere u look. We checked in but once we saw our room we checked out.. The room was about $170.. but the room was tiny.. and very budget.. can’t get more basic really.. just a place to sleep that’s it.. not a nice room to hang out in at all. We checked out and went to the Ventura Inn down the road.. paid $145 and got room more than double the size.. comfy.. roomy.. bath.. no budget feel.. Recommend the Ventura Inn.. 100%
Nice hotel, small city, nice riverside, good walking possibilities, close by restaurants. Nice room, excellent breakfast, happy hour between 17.00 and 18.00 hours, nice snacks available. The pancake machine at the breakfast buffet is fantastic,
It's always a pleasure to have so many great staff when you are away from home. It just makes you feel better about not being at home. But there is a train goes over the bridge nearby and it was noisy as (for me as an out of town person). MY dinner could not be faulted, and I asked for the chef to be told that.
The service from staff at this hotel from reception, dining and valet parking was friendly and prompt. Everything is located on the first floor and the lifts are super fast. Large area with bar, outside seating and dining area. My husband had the best cooked steak, the way he likes it and tender, that he has ever had. Breakfast has a lot of options for $25 but some of the food was disappointing. Sloppy scrambled eggs, tough bacon and tired looking cheese. But croissants and little danishes were good. Rooms are small or maybe it was just the bed was big, king-sized. Be aware that Ibis charges $25 for valet parking on site. The value for the rrom was good, as was a special deal 30% off, included breakfast and we added the dinner deal of two courses and a beverage ($37 each).
Needed a couple of nights in Hamilton and booked here online, very happy. Nice big King bed and good quality blinds meant really good sleep. Rooms are quite tiny but if it’s comfort and convenience you want the Ibis is great. Pretty much in the heart of town, they have a nice bar and the staff are pretty helpful, there are quite a few good restaurants in the area and if the Casino is your think then it’s about a 5 minute walk.
