Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

A two night stay in this modern roomy motel. Very friendly welcome to this classical motel i.e. single story and parking outside the room. Large apartment with lounge, dining area, desk area, seperate bedroom and bathroom with corner jacuzzi bath. TV with 3 Sky Sports channels plus Discovery. Internet speed @ 25Mbps / 9.5 which was OK for emails, but struugled to support streaming. Large full kitchen area with cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle along with a fair selection of crockery and cutlery. Small swimming pool (8 strokes end to end). Our only irritation was that with the motel being so empty, they insited on putting large numbers of workmen next to us, and as we were in the corner, these guys kept walking past and sitting outside our windows talking. The same happned the second day when, what looked like a cricket team arrived.

From check in to check out everything was great. Friendly and jovial hosts make you feel really welcomed. Had a newbie check me in and he was a laugh! Had a ground level room and was totally adequate, really clean and tidy. Air con was awesome. Great TV. Shower pressure amazing. Beds were OK.....I am fussy thou.
One little hint.... upgrade the instant coffee sachets to Brazilian....the Supreme blend is not as good quality and for an extra $10 a ctn it's totally worth it. Overall 9.5/10

If you book here ask for the studios or rooms on the ground floor that are single story. The double story units are old tired and very noisy.
The main entrance door after hours is slammed by other guests to close and wakes people up.
The sky window- did not have a good curtain so right in your eyes first thing in the morning was a bright light.
Pipes in the walls rattled and banged and made noises when other units were using taps.
Tea coffee shampoo etc was not replaced and only enough for one person was supplied for three people.
It was ok but did not live up to photos and was overpriced for what was once possibly a nice place. The units in the single story looked much nicer.

A little late submitting this, but have to give a shout out to this awesome little family run motel. Have stayed here twice, and on both occasions found the staff friendly and helpful, the room spotlessly clean, comfortable and supplied with everything you need, tastefully decorated and worth paying extra to have a spa tub. But on our second visit, for a work trip, they went out of their way to help us out when our car broke down, even allowing us to leave it in a spare space for a few days until we were able to organise a tow. I definitely recommend this place and will definitely stay there every time I'm working in Hamilton.

Stayed here once before and it was wonderful. This time I wish I had booked somewhere else. Only reason given for the poor service was "we have only just taken over". Wont be going back. When you book with these guys double check that they are have all services that they are offering as we didn't and wasn't offered any type of a refund for the lack of services, Instead told that was the price and they were not changing it.

I stayed here a week ago in unit 16 & I received the warmest of welcomes from April, the lady on reception. My studio unit was spacious, clean, well equipped & I liked the good quality bed linen & towels. It's handy to a supermarket, local dairy, petrol station, river walks & a short drive to the CBD. There's also a clean swimming pool with towels available.

Three bedroom suite. Beds and pillows are comfortable and rooms are nicely decorated. Kitchen and lounge are spacious with comfortable, smart furniture.
Shower is powerful. Good location - close to dairy.
Less good: Noisy at night from surrounding buildings.

Looking fir a place close for the rugby or a walk to northern Victoria St restaurants; then this place ticks the box. Everything is there. The rooms are not flash but they’re certainly adequate and ok for the money. We were in our own unit but other family members bunked in together in a larger unit and it was all acceptable. If you want flash; this isn’t it. But it’s an honest place to stay.

Do you have any bathrooms with exhaust fans. I read a review which said no fans which is not good
Answer from Mark-Alix

Greetings Susanna, Thank you for your message. Some of our bathrooms have exhaust fans in them however the one ones that just have showers in them (i.e. not our spa bath rooms) have shower domes. Shower domes are designed to keep all the moisture inside the shower cubicle and keep the rest of the bathroom dry and prevent the mirror from fogging up. They are very effective however people do not always notice them as they don't stand out and you don't need to turn them on like you do an extractor fan. If you choose to book with us and have any specific requirements you would like meet, please book directly with us via email so we can do our best to meet those needs. Kind Regards, Mark & Alix Boe Camelot on Ulster Hosts
