Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am a motel cleaner myself and was satisfied with the room, lovely couple who cleans the rooms themselves so really have to give it to them for their service as well as the state of the rooms, they do great for what they have, my son and I stayed in room 28 which is upstairs, 1 bedroom with a queen bed, room has all the basics you need, stove top but no oven, the next night we were lucky to be rebooked In as we didn’t have to stay in the hospital and we got room 32 which is downstairs and had a separate bedroom with a queen bed and 2 singles in the main area. Shower pressure was great in both rooms, towels and rubbish gets left out the door and is replaced. Wifi was good.

Two nternal doors would not shut without jamming, and the third, the toilet / shower was not able to be closed within the frame. The electric jug leaked water out of its base. The dining table was very wobbly.

This motel is an older style motel but in a good location just on the outskirts of Hamilton. It is about 2 blocks from Pac N Save supermarket and about 4 blocks from the CBD. The motel room was a good size and had a well equipped kitchen. The receptionist was really nice and showed us to our room when we arrived. We were on the ground floor of the 2 storey building. We used Hamilton as a base for a few days visit Taupo, Tauranga and Matamata (to visit Hobbiton). There a lot of good shops to visit in the CBD and we took time out to visit the botanical gardens. We will stay here again when we return to Hamilton in the future.

Luckily I read reviews before staying there so I was prepared for the worst. I didn't book it myself. I notice they say the rooms are refurbished, but ours wasn't. Having a low expectation helped. You could take your own towels, tea towels, fly spray and disinfectant wipes, as I did. I was glad I did. I can only go by my own experience but it is a basic, budget motel and it was adequate. Other motels in the area charge a lot more. I did find the staff very pleasant and helpful, but maybe they don't read the reviews, which is a pity. A bit more effort would go a long way. I would rather not stay there again but if I had to, I would take my own gear again. Just don't expect much and you can't be disappointed.

We chose this motel for its location.

This motel room and ensuite size were fine. The owner, who was quite friendly, did arrange a room on the bottom, so we did not have to undergo the stairs. The room was clean enough.

There was no hand soap in the dispenser, so we had to get it each time from the dispenser in the shower.

When we came to cook breakfast however there was very minimum equipment. The two plates were very big, with no other option. Two knives, two forks, one teaspoon.

There are better and cheaper Hamilton motels available - we will not be going back. This place is over-priced!

The photos seen in the booking process bore no resemblance to what we received. The motel is run down and in need of major upgrade. Whilst our room was relatively comfortable the kitchen facilities were completely run down and were on the dirty side. The bathroom window was opaque but if you showered at night your silhouette could be seen from the car park and street above. The morning I was greeted with a cold shower! On check in we were greeted by a women (Chinese) with poor english standing well behind a perspex barrier. It was difficult to relay our comments to her on how we found the condition of the motel.

Old but good. Refurbished where needed. Spacious rooms. Good value, budget friendly. Excellent staff service. Stayed here to see a Show at nearby Theatre. Great location, easy walk to both theatre and restaurants.
Winter stay, so heat pump (quiet) much appreciated.

I’m guessing the rooms were recently made over. I booked this place before reading the “tired motel” reviews and was a little apprehensive but I needn’t have worried. Our room 24 greeted us with the smell of fresh new carpet. Fresh paint job too I would think. Large kitchen, great shower with contemporary fittings. Great location, only a short walk into town. Great value too so give it a go!

Receptionist, Celine, was excellent rooms were as described and clean. Facilities were as described. They were willing to make our stay, 35 female footballers, as enjoyable as possible. Happy to let us move BBq to a more accessible area. Within walking distance of CBD

I stayed here 2 nights for a conference. It is in desperate need of a makeover/attention to detail- dated, some mould in the bathroom, curtains too short for the windows, door locks a bit flimsy. No information on checkin about check out, services etc. Not even a number to call for reception- I had to call from my cell phone to ask about checkout! Odd service too- came back after a day out to find my used towel gone but not replaced, and the bathroom window open. I appreciate it was safe, as it's up a story, but it was FREEZING! And nothing else had been touched. The wifi is also unreliable. There was a heat pump and it was 15 mins walk from the main restaurant district which was convenient, but my advice would be to look elsewhere for somewhere nicer as I walked past 2 others on the same street. It strikes me as the kind of place that maybe was nice at some point, but people have just bought it for some income and aren't really interested in the business.
