Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Decided on Hamilton for our second honeymoon trip in New Zealand. The place was awesome! It was clean with every single day of room service. We did not regret with the choice made. The hosts were VERY friendly, especially Mavis, who made us young couple felt at home (she was like a motherly figure during our stay here). Please do pick this motel when you come to Hamilton!

P.S. Mavis, if you're reading this, don't forget us! =D

Last week I bought a stay at this motel from grab one and used it the very next day .
It was the first time the owners had listed with grab one and so they were a bit nervous about this.
They are new owners and are so friendly and helpful.Debbie showed us through and gave us a bottle of wine and breakfast menu .
Rooms are lovely and clean, and for a studio room it was fantastic with table and chairs plus 2 armchairs . Lovely spa bath .
What also impressed me was the recycling .
and Debbie says she wants to have one room set aside and the money from this will go to a charity. A lot of owners/ managers do this ,but the money from the room goes as perks for themselves .
Debbie and Wayne are such friendly and welcoming hosts and I do hope they stay here for years to come
we will definitely be back .

We stayed recently for 2 nights. Awesome room and amazingly quiet considering it is close to a main road. Had a great spa bath and the shower was wonderful. The shower head is adjustable so a tall person can also fit under it! Comfy bed was so welcome. We had recently done a road trip around lower North Island and this was the best motel by far. Amazing friendly owners make you feel right at home. Well done Wayne and Debbie

On arrival, carpark had people sitting in it, drinking, smoking & swearing. Office woman declined me a refund when I said at check-in that I would prefer to go elsewhere. She said it would be quiet by 11pm (and it was). By then I had barricaded the unit door with chairs after a loud male banged on my door @9.30 pm yelling for someone (who was in the unit 2 over). The upstairs was extremely hot with no fan, the sofa was stained, the shower curtains mouldy, the dishes dirty. By the morning my car had two dents & a scratch probably from the kiddies racing their scooters around the carpark. Just don't go here.

This is the first time we’ve actually packed up & moved accomodation. Checked in about 3pm & checked out at 7:30pm. Lots of yelling & swearing in the complex. Even came out at one stage to find about four different units outside arguing & yelling at each other. Decided that a move to other premises would ensure a much better sleep.
The room itself was tidy & would have worked well for our family.
To their credit, the owners agreed to refund some of our money.

On enquiring about a room, I was so impressed with the welcoming and friendliness of the new owners, Wayne and Debbie, I knew right then this was the motel for me to spend my duration of 4 weeks. They made my stay so comfortable was like home away from home , room was so clean and comfy and daily serviced and they always went that extra mile to make me feel at home. I have travelled and stayed in many motels home and abroad , never have I found one as clean, so friendly, and accomodating..Will highly recommend this to anyone I know that is looking for accommodation in Hamilton.. 100/100 Wayne and Debbie. THANK YOU. And all the best for further improvements that you are intending to do. I'll BE BACK....

This luxury establishment has been revitalized by the new and improved owners. This team knows there customers and treats everyone with a unique kindness and experience you need to see to believe. There are renovations happening to upgrade the Settlers Motor Lodge and I can't wait to travel back there again.

We stayed there for a couples getaway for the weekend. The room was incredible with such a great rate too! The managers (who are new) were really friendly and super nice! Although I wish there was an air-con in the room, I really enjoyed our time there!

There seems to be a little bit of chaos as the managers have only just taken over and were left with what looked like a lot of confusion, however Wayne and his wife explained the situation and dealt with it is a very calm and professional manner. We received a warm greeting on arrival and were shown to our lovely spacious room which was clean and tidy. We loved our stay there and wouldn't mind returning for another holiday!
