Rooms are good size with newish furniture. I was on 4th floor and the room had high ceilings. Bit disappointing that I was allocated a disabled room. No shower caps were available (even on request). Customer service from both the staff (check in and out) was amazing. Free Parking is limited and next option is paid parking at Sky city.
Fantastic location, clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect accomodation for a family of 5. We booked the family connecting rooms (1 king & 2 doubles) We all enjoyed the daily use of the sauna. Housekeeping was super efficient too. The kids also got given the cutest kiwi toy! Will definitely be back :)
Stayed for two nights whilst attending Ireland Māori rugby match. Rooms were clean and spacious but what made the stay was the friendliness of the staff, who couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfasts were great and you could order bespoke omelette and other eggs. The hotel was far from full, yet breakfast time was busy so I’m not sure how they would cope if they were full. Same goes for the bar area in the evenings.
Overall we had a good stay. The only issue we had was, we had booked for connecting rooms but the interconnecting door was locked and we tried to contact the reception where they didn't answer. And we got in unlocked by evening.
Stayed at Novotel for 3 nights during the Queens Bday weekend. We were 2 families with kids and it was our first time in Hamilton. The rooms were modern, fresh, clean and very comfy bed and pillows. Staff were friendly and approachable. However, our hotel experience was greatly enhanced by the customer service from Leslie at the front desk. She was professional, extremely helpful and her proactive approach in assisting us with just about anything - from parking, check-in, complimentary drinks, food, direction, check-out, etc. was such a welcome surprise. It is very rare that we are made to feel at home in a hotel. Very grateful for going the extra mile to do that. We also noticed she has the same passion and enthusiastic demeanor with other guests as well. Such an asset to your team. Top-notch customer service worth coming back to.…
Very nice hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are good , as is shower but lighting is terrible. Difficult to put makeup on in dim bathroom with steamy mirror. Buffet breakfast was outstanding, first time we have experienced a buffet with food at safe temperatures and beautifully presented. A bit pricey for standard king size room.
From the very start the hotel staff were nice to deal with. I don’t normally sleep well in another bed, but I actually slept in way pass my normal wake up time. I recommend the full buffet breakfast as well 👍🏼 Thank you for an awesome weekend stay.
Nice quick stay, room was lovely but we were on the top floor and the air conditioning was really noisy, particularly when we were trying to sleep. Great to see the buffet breakfast was back. Very smiling, helpful, happy team members.
Very disappointing that a 4.5 star hotel foes not have dedicated parking for staying guests. There are a few parking bays downtrend Hill but even these are not secured for staying guests. Looks like anyone can park there. Spent over 30 minutes trying to find street parking for the night but all limited time parking. Has to eventually park at the Sky City Casino parking and walk back to the hotel. After a long day working, it's the last thing I need. Novotel need to make some effort to secure guest parking.
My wife and I spent a night at the Novotel Hamilton Tainui Hotel as we had a night available on our Accor Plus card. On arrival we were greeted by a cheerful young man at the front desk who quickly and efficiently checked us in and we drove to the underground carpark. After a long walk around the area which included a very interesting visit to the Waikato Museum we went back and enjoyed our complimentary drink and booked for dinner. On arrival at the restaurant we were greeted like long lost friends and shown to our table. We then met for the first time our waiter Jordan and he turned out to be a real star. From introducing the specials nothing was too much trouble for this super pleasant young man. He took the time to talk to us in a genuine manner as he did to all the diners around us. To be honest, Jordan spent more time talking to us and sharing a joke and a story than we have any previous waiting staff combined in several hotels. This young man is worth his weight in gold and is a real asset to the hotel. On other aspects, the food was to a very high standard and very tasty and well prepared and presented. Overall, the restaurant was a real treasure and we were very glad that we chose to eat here. Our room was of a good size, well set out and presented with a lovely bathroom. Overall, a very pleasant night spent in Hamilton with the highlight our restaurant dinner. …
