Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Loved everything about our stay here. Our host, Anne was so welcoming and friendly. The west wing was beautiful and full of light with big windows, it was great to keep the doors open and hear the birds outside (it was so quiet). The fireplace was lovely. The kitchenette was very helpful to have and the bedroom was lovely and comfortable. It was great having our own private entrance and I felt like we had lots of privacy. It was also lovely to be able to wander into town along the river, and there were lots of good restaurants nearby. The boom of tips and recommendations nearby was very helpful. Would highly recommend.

We booked in and took a two day break on the spur of the moment and we're glad that we did. We were able to take our mountain bikes and get a couple of rides in on the cycle trail that is immediately accessible to this B and B. The accommodation was very well appointed, private and most importantly ....CLEAN. The hosts were very helpful and discrete. We usually stay at the Tainui Hotel when we go to Hamilton but not anymore....highly recommend this B and B.

I stayed for 26 nightsbecause we were visiting our son who was in the Waikato Hospital (which is a leafy 10 minute walk awa)y. These nights were spread out over 3 months because of prior bookings at City B&B. Anne & Pete became firm friends. They run a really good B&B. I was in the studio which had a mini kitchen as well. I have very good memoires of breakfast looking out onto their smallish but well designed garden. The pool is a big bonus. There is a walk by the river on the door step and the lake is also nearby. If you are into fitness try running up the hill coming up from the river.

This is a nice place to stay at the river end of Anglesea street, but within walking distance of downtown and the restaurants on Victoria Street, and is just a short walk from the Countdown supermarket..The room really two rooms consisted of a living room with a couch and gas fire place, small table and two chairs and then a bed room. The room had a porch over looking the backyard in which was was a small pool that you could use. There is free WIFI which was good enough for me to make Skype calls.. They provide breakfast for you in the room, and the supplies are replenished each day. There was coffee, cereal, bread, yogurt, milk and cheese. Note that there is a coffee press.Toiletries are provided and a real key is used.

I had booked a stay for 3 nights after reading the excellent reviews in Tripadvisors. Sadly, my wife was admitted to the hospital right before my trip. I had to cancel, giving less than 24 hours notice. Despite the fact that they lost business and that I told them I would be happy to pay for room, Anne and Pete refused to take any payment under the circumstances. Just wanted people to know something about the owners.
Thank you, Pete and Anne.

City Centre Hamilton is the perfect spot for R&R. The atmosphere is friendly, the rooms are clean and there was a fire place and electric blanket, just right for winter. With breakfast and free wifi thrown in, it is great value for money,

On the internet the West Wing of City Centre B & B looked very attractive, and we were eagerly anticipating our arrival. We received excellent directions as to how to reach the property and these we followed and they were very accurate and easy to follow. On arrival we received a warm welcome by Anne who showed us to our suite of rooms. We were completely blown away as the rooms far exceeded our expectations, as they were of an ample size and very well furnished and decorated. We had a good size combined lounge, dining and micro kitchen with a separate lovely ensuite bedroom. There was plenty of local information shown in the welcome pack. Local restaurants and shopping malls are within easy walking distance, and it was a pleasant way to finish each day to stroll up to the high street where there was a large choice of good restaurants, at reasonable prices, and to then to gently stroll back to the West Wing. Another bonus point for this property is its close proximity to the wonderful Hamilton Gardens just about 5 minutes drive away. Certainly walkable for those so inclined. Anne & Pete were wonderful hosts and are to be congratulated on running such a lovely restful home from home.

I stayed here 6 days while my husband was having an operation. The place is close to everything- the hospitals, city, river, supermarket etc. Anne and Peter were brilliant hosts and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The unit was spotless and nicely furnished with everything I needed for my stay. The pool was a welcome extra with the hot weather. I would highly recommend it if you are staying in Hamilton.

Where do I start, couldn't fault the place. Everything provided for and if you need anything more, it will be provided. My sister and I stayed in the Studio unit for 7 nights while attending NZ/Australia badminton held at the Dey St Stadium which was only a short distant away. Location of accommodation is ideal and central to almost everything. Peter and Anne are perfect hosts and lovely people. Thank you for a great stay and only hope we get the chance to stay again.
