Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean room. Comfy bed. Modern bathroom. Kitchenette fully equipped. Pool was dirty. Paper thin wall and ceiling. I could hear the person in the upstairs room walking around and the rooms next door - you can hear their tv & conversations. A lot of road workers stayed there also so I would probably not recommend it for a family as it seems like a motel mainly for people who are away for work.

While the outside of the building looked tired the unit we stayed in was really good. It was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. The unit also contained a 42inch tv and free WiFi. We will definitely be staying here again.

I stayed at the motel for 3 nights and it was experience was bad. The room was very old, smelly and tiny. No wardrobe and no extra security lock. The shower head was disgusting. They shouldn't sell the room to customer at all.

Receptionist and housekeeping staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Unit 3 was large and very clean. Bathroom was spotless and very modern. The rest of the unit was less modern but certainly comfortable and spacious with a large kitchen with all the basics for motel meal preparation including a large tea pot which is often lacking. We were very impressed that there was only a "swish" of traffic noise despite being near the road. Lovely thick dark curtains which made the room perfect for sleeping. Large comfortable bed. Next to a park and took us 20 minutes to walk to River walk. I would have preferred brighter lights in the kitchen and livng area but would stay again. I did not have time to use the heated pool but it looked inviting.

What can I say......... Firstly I would not stay again, but that doesnt mean it's not for you? Secondly, the bathroom had been revamped and was really nice so I expect there's a refurbishment plan underway?

When I first entered the room it was dim and warmed up. The room looked clean. Kitchen is quite dated. The bed was quite soft but I slept okay. The one thing that irked about was the stained and worn sofa bed in the room. I felt uncomfortable sitting on it. The shower head is very low and I had to stoop down to wash my hair. Reception is very polite. I can't say I like to stay there again.

Sorry to say that we paid for the night at this motel but did not stay. It is a very tired motel and the room which we were directed to secondly smelt as someone had been smoking in it. The advertising is somewhat quite different to what lies behind the facade. One would hope that there is an upgrade for this motel as it was simply not up to our standards.

Strange mix of dated and tired decor with some modern revamped facilities. It was clean with a comfortable bed. There is a modern heat pump and decent dining table with superior chairs. Sky TV and free WI-FI. The en-suite was tiled and modern but with the shower shelf loose and useless. The vanity unit drawer was broken. The hot water temperature was set dangerously high with danger of serious scalding. Living area lighting abysmal - kitchenette area very dark. Power points scarce and one broken, but a power-bank was located in the wardrobe under spare pillows. With no security stays on windows, night time ventilation was zero. This unit needs some serious repair and redecoration. There was a defunct cook-top under a boxed frame but there was an old portable one in a kitchen cupboard. A pleasing outlook over the lawn and very pleasant staff.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The unit was exceptionally clean and tidy. The living area was spacious. Beds were small, couch pull out bed was dilapidated. Place was central and looked out onto a park.

We stayed in the family two bedroom apartment. It was a wild eclectic mix of brand new and classic motor inn circa 1970. The added fun element was that any one swimming in the pool could look directly into the apartment (so close the curtains!). The stand out was the bathrooms - brand new and perfectly appointed. Best shower throughout rural NZ! The apartment was huge, and had a massive kitchen (but its age did not inspire any cooking!). I thoroughly appreciated the plunger coffee!! The bedrooms were spacious and the beds a wee tired. But each room had AC available and were a quiet retreat.
