Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 3 nights, very comfortable and the proprietors very kind and helpful.
Breakfast is a very good value for money at $13 each served at a time to suite your convenience, the last available time being 9am.
The rooms had everything you require, and the bathroom excellent which included the shower.
Location ideal for Rugby or Cricket and other amenities like Petrol and Supermarkets within 1 kilometre of the property.
Would definitely recommend the Ballinor Motor Inn to anybody who is looking for good clean accommodation while visiting Hamilton.

I travel a lot; especially with my children; and I must say the hosts at Ballinor Motor Inn were exceptional. Friendly, accommodating to our requests, even gave up their own car space to accomodate us. The rooms were clean, bright, modern and the spa bath is a definite highlight. The Beds are really comfortable and the airCon is nice and cold. Good value for money.
We will definitely be staying again.
Thank you.

Simply the best! :)) David was a total gentleman and did everything possible to make my stay away from home feel homely! The room had everything I needed (except for biscuits, but he promises to sort this out for next time). The cleanliness was outstanding as was the service. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give my whole experience 20! As this was a business trip I didn't book the hotel myself but next time I'm in Hamilton I wouldn't think twice about booking the Ballinor. Even got $20 of free wifi and an abundance of real milk!

Motel owner rang me a week out from our stay to enquire what I wanted the room for. I advised it was for a hens weekend and he got really nasty and told me my room was cancelled immediately. Apparently they do not take bookings for hens nights and this is advised on their website. After a big search by two of us we finally saw this under policies. Should be more visible. He was extremely rude on the phone and then advised my credit card had declined which must be due to his incompetence when inputting the details as I have checked and the full limit is available. Not good business sense considering we are all mature adults needing somewhere to stay as we are all coming from out of town. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

Response from ballinor, Owner at Ballinor Motor Inn
Responded 28 Dec 2011
Hi Nicky, I am very sorry you felt this way about myself and Ballinor you had to put this kind of comment on TripAdvisor, I would like to correct a few discrepancies and reply to your comments. Yes you got upset with me when I rung and we had a discussion on the fact that the group that you had booked on line with us was a Hens night, I did explain very politely and at NO stage did I get “really nasty” ( this especially upset me as I pride myself on Always giving personal service and I would never want to upset anyone) the fact that we have had to make a policy about not taking any groups in regards to “Hens” or “Stag nights” etc, as we have had a terrible weekend only 3 weeks prior with an undisclosed booking for a Stag night. We are a small modern and compact site so noise is an issue when a group stays, This is under policies on every web site, this is the place for All policies on All Web sites provided for rules/policies etc by the Web sites designers, this is on the front page under "Policies" I am sorry you found it difficult to find, again I would like to stress at no stage was I rude, I even suggested 3 different providers as an alternative for you as that a Hens night may not be an issue. The added reason for the cancellation of your group was the credit card you provided as a guarantee of payment for the stay, this was declined (Twice) as I stated if the number you provided was incorrect I am sorry but this is out of my control if you provided incorrect details. Nicky by this stage you would have had your Hens night, I am sure you had an enjoyable stay in Hamilton and I wish you all the best for the future. Stayed here overnight for business. Had a one bedroom. The "lounge" was pretty pathetic, had one single bed and one easy chair which was positioned under the wall mounted tv.
So you had to lie down on the bed anyway to watch tv.
No point at all in getting a one bedroom, waste of money.
The shower smelt terrible, damp and musty. The shower head wouldn't stay in one position and as soon as you let go it moved to spraying water above your head every time. So you had to hold it one position to use it.
The walls are very thin and I could here all the conversation in the room next to me when I was in the bathroom.
Horrible.

We travel to Hamilton regularly and this is the only motel we have stayed in more than once. The owner is friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I love the real hairdryer and the full strength dishwashing liquid!

I always feel so safe and like I am at home. Nothing is ever an issue and always so comfortable and clean. The rooms have exactly what you want/need on a trip away from home and are very modern. I would have no hesitation recommending this property to anyone. My favourite across the country.
