Okay stay here at the Ashwood Manor

The Good:

*Comfortable Bed with good linen
*Incredible Spa Tub in the bathroom - good water pressure
*Good Location in the CBD
*Sky TV
*Air Conditioning

The Bad

*Parking is not great
*They seem to rent rooms out on a long term basis, and some of the guests are very noisy. Lots of loud music, clapped out cars hogging all the best parks. Slamming doors, kids yelling, adults yelling. People hanging outside doors smoking. Made me feel really uncomfortable. Wish I had read previous reviews on this place which also mention this. I would have probably reconsidered.

*The road noise was alarming. Room arnt double glazed. The rubbish truck at 5.45am outside my room was alarming.

I am not sure I would stay here again. I just didnt feel comfortable outside my room. But the rooms are decent, and the location is nice. Maybe this establishment needs to ensure the long term guests they do have are not causing issues so that nightly guests dont want to stay.

We stayed at the Ashwood Manor motel for 4 nights in November. The hotel is easy to find, close to local Hamilton attractions and very good value for money. The room itself was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The hot tub in some of the rooms is the biggest hot tub i have ever seen - Definitely a plus of the room if one is available. The check in process was very good, we even got given some ground coffee, milk and chocolates on our check in which was a nice touch. Overall my stay at Ashwood manor motel in Hamilton has surpassed my expectations for the money i paid and i will hopefully have the chance to return here on my next stay in Hamilton.

Have stayed here numerous times. Some for up to two weeks at a time. Has been mentioned by other reviewers that the proprietor makes it feel like a home away from home (sorry to steal you comments). Bill (Owner) is simply awesome!! Cannot speak highly enough of him. Has gone and goes out of his way to help me out with any request and more often than not able to accommodate me on them (e.g. getting a cooked breakfast earlier than the stated times etc)
The rooms are huge!! Not joking. So mu space that it doesn't feel like a motel room. Its bigger than one of the hotel rooms we stayed at in Las Vegas! Very comfortable beds. The kitchenette is just the right size (remember to check that your fridge is turned on). Bathroom is good. Water pressure is stunning. Enough to really take skin off it you like it that hard LOL. I'm a slightly chunkier guy, so the shower is a bit cramped for me but still very usable.
Overall do not hesitate to use this motel ever. You wont be disappointed

Night from hell, thumping music all night Gangsters roaming around the buildings.
Cockroaches all over the kitchen, rooms dirty.
I would have left and slept in the car but wasn’t keen on carrying my belongings to the car through the gangsters with tattoos all over there heads Smoking drugs outside my filthy room.
Don’t stay at the Ashwood.

I had the pleasure of stay with Dianne and Bill just last week 28th june 2012, i was having eye laser surgeory localy and Bill offerd to pick me up and that was fantastic.
I found my room to be spacious, clean, compfortable and very warm. I also had an awesome breakfast.

The Manor is close to the CBD which is an added bonus.

Why stay else where.

After staying in some impersonal hotel on my first night in Hamilton, I followed a colleague's advice and moved to the Ashwood Manor motel.

From now on I will always stay there: from the moment of arrival where Bill greeted me like a long lost friend, through the frosty morning when he cleared my car windows of ice, to Jean's home-made porridge in the morning and the library of books, the Ashwood combines all the best points of a classic Kiwi motel. The spa bath is a brilliant touch, and I appreciated the advice on restaurants and the selection of breakfast options.

We needed a quiet night and yet be close to Waikato hospital and that's what we got. Noisy "boyracers" are infamous in Hamilton and at this motel (unit 10) we didn't hear a thing and got a good night's sleep. The room was immaculately clean and warm. The spa bath was a bonus. I would definately stay here again.

The Ashwood Manor is really a very good motel. It is only five minutes walk from Victoria Street and sits on a hill overlooking the CBD. It's location is very good. The hosts are very hospitable, even pouring water on the ice that had formed on the rear window of my car without me even asking. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the furnishings pleasant. The bed was a little firm but the linen adequate. The shower pressure was superb and the kitchenette adequate for self-catering (although we ate out). All in all, a very pleasant experience.

The worst stay ever in a hotel- we were subjected to loud music from the room next door from approx 2.30 in the morning and found he was mob/gang affiliated on long term stay and who was happy to offer drugs - we had requested he turn it down which lasted 10 mins at a time - finally got someone from the hotel on a mobile as reception is not manned till 9 am and who had to come twice . Music continued loudly till just after 8am in the morning .Overall we had 1 hour sleep- Visitors staying at the other end of the block heard it as well yet the Owner/ Manager who stays directly below says they didnt?? No Apology from the Management who seems more interested in having gang affiliated long term guests and their well being, than that of any other quests . Is this a hotel or a half way house? As later found there were more long term quests . POORLY managed !! The hotel supplies were very minimal 2 towels for 2 people staying over night coffee tea etc was minimal - had to ask for a extra blanket as none supplied and bed had the most thinnest blanket on and was told we had a heat pump which on return to hotel was not working and we could not turn on .
so for a night of no sleep no apology Customer care is ZERO haggled to get a 30% discount (36) dollars which we did not freely agree on as they thought 20% was sufficent . but yet have not received ..No Care NO service NO Apology. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Was looking forward to a great night with my wife of 30years...chose what I thought was a decent enough motel for $182 for the night...was I wrong or what. As soon as we arrived Wife received attitude from reception staff member due to our arrival being a little early. Carpark had people hanging in and around cars which I presumed were emergency housing residents. Room was clean. Spa was good...although only given 1 towel each. Aircon was great along with fan and large TV with 50 Sky channels. Mini bar Fridge is way too small for 2 or more people. Woken up at 6am Sunday morning by loud music coming from 2 rooms away from ours. Neighbouring room asked idiot to shut it down which he obliged for about 10minscthen started up again...we got up and left. Sorry we wont be back....
