Pd $628 for two nights in a very dated and small room!! Over priced and would never recommend!!! Gisborne surely has better than this!!!! Bathroom dark and pokey. No couch. Balcony sooo small with no chairs. Two dining chairs even my Gran would laugh at!! Need to lift your game Portside as this is very poor indeed ☹️☹️☹️
Great hotel with clean, modern rooms and a lovely outlook. Location is superb right on the river/beach entrance and a short stroll into town. Stayed twice in 2 weeks and was very happy. The pool is amazing and almost full lap size so bring your goggles if you are a swimmer. Only downside is that it doesn't serve food/have a bar onsite but that's no biggie really as very close to town and you can purchase drinks from reception while its open. Would definitely come back.
Thanks to the Portside teams House Keeping & Management (Stefan and Chelsea), for going above and beyond especially during our traumatic experience. In addition, your flexibility & caretaking was much appreciated. Room 220 - from 13th - 15th January 2021.
We stayed in a riverside premium room. The room was large enough, however, there were no armchairs, only two upright dining chairs. Overall the room and the property is in need of renovation. There are no onsite facilities- ie no bar or restaurant. Whilst proximity to the port is interesting, it is extremely noisy when it operates.
Don't be tempted to pay extra for a port view. If there are vessels in port it will mean constant noise. Plus the tiny balcony, with no furniture, isn't inspiring. There's no on-site restaurant, the room is weird (ie it comes with a very odd kitchen when some comfortable chairs would be of far more use). I've stayed at Heritage hotels before and been really impressed. This is not one of their better efforts. It's sterile, and not particularly welcoming. And at nearly 300 bucks a night (!!!) is seriously overpriced.
