Detailed Reviews
Great motel in Gisborne. The manager Justine is fabulous and the service she provided was excellent. She was extremely pleasant, helpful, and informative. We were there for Rhythm and Vines and she had lots of helpful tips for us. She even bought rain ponchos for the guests as she knew rain was forecast and just what was needed. The room was extremely clean and tidy. There were toiletries and milk in the fridge on arrival. The rooms servicing was thorough and non intrusive.
I would definitely recommend staying her and it was great value for money

Lovely receptionist called after we booked to ask if we would like her to turn on the aircon for our arrival as it was a hot sticky day. Also put a big bottle of water in fridge for us. Great service.
Room was clean and cool, bathroom spotless and we'll equipped - pool a bit chilly.

We stayed in the Cottage at the Travellers Inn motel and although it wasn't the flashest place to stay we had the best nights sleep in a motel ever.
The Cottage has comfy beds , is very clean, has a shower that is so strong you get a full on massage!!, is very quiet and nice and dark....no bright lights shining into our rooms.
If we go back to Gisborne again will definately be staying in the Cottage.
Thank you.

This motel should not advertise that pets are allowed. The proprietors were very rude, and made us feel very unwelcome. Although they advertised as pet friendly and pets allowed - this was only if the dog didn't go in the room! Would not recommend to anyone.

Response from raewyn p, Owner at Travellers Inn Motel
Responded 25 Dec 2015
Sian, if you had taken the time to read our pet policy on Booking.com it clearly states to advise about pet arrangements. We have had everything from cockatoos to donkeys, but, they do not stay in the rooms.... have a little thought about the next person to occupy the room.

For the budget minded traveler, the Traveller's Inn Motel provides you with good accommodation. We had a small kitchen, so we were able to prepared meals which helps with the travel expenses.
You also have access to a very nice gas barbeque at no extra charge.
The room was clean and the appliances all worked. They also have laundry facilities for an extra charge.
The hosts, Grant and Raewyn were very accommodating. They provided us with a lot of information about things to do in Gisborne. Grant was so nice as to drive us to the rental car office to pick up our rental.
If you do not have access to a vehicle, you are about a 20 minute walk into downtown Gisborne.
We were there in May 2016 and had no issue with obtaining accommodation. If you plan to be there between October to January, you should book well in advance

A friendly welcome from a helpful owner who provided local knowledge. The accommodation was spacious, clean, comfortable and all the equipment in the lovely kitchenette worked. After several poor experiences of Motels during our tour of New Zealand, it was a pleasure to stay at this Motel. It was not the most expensive Motel we had stayed at but it was one of the best.

My Travellers Inn experience was very pleasing. The motel is well-equipped, well set out and very clean. Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows (nice and soft) and TV is on a swivel arm set on the wall. There is a large laundry and a spa. Overall in my view they have put a lot of thought into the visitor experience and I was well pleased with my stay.

We were placed in a room at the Travelers Motor Inn that absolutely reeked of vomit.
We went in search of the receptionist after we arrived (9pm) but there was know one at the front desk, and the reception was closed.
Morning - 0700AM. When we woke up, We managed to find the owner to be told that our accomadation cost would not be reimbursed, and that we should have found the receptionist the night before and they could have helped us out then and there. Apparently there was nothing he could do and he told us the rooms were clean enough.
On top off everything, both of us woke up with sore thoats and nasty coughs!
Please be carefull where you stay with your families!
