Stayed in 1bed garden view.
This building we were in was quite dated, as opposed to the other building which looked more modern
The shower is a blast from the past never seen one like it & hate shower curtains. But pressure was great even if water would go hot & cold, if anyone used the toilet or sink.
Honestly it's an ok for a 1 night stay, any longer & the couch would give you backache, plus it's covered in a blanket to hide the fabric under. A more comfortable lounge would add to making this apt more inviting.
The wardrobe would also be very limited if a few clothes in it & the drawers have a slight musty smell.
Full kitchen if you need to cook & has the essentials.
But the place was very clean so kudos to the cleaning staff & the bed extremely comfortable & happy as to find blankets, something a lot of motels do not have anymore
Aircon in lounge area with only a pedestal fan in bedroom
Short walk to beach front.

Had a great stay here, we had a one bedroom room upstairs with a view of the sea. Great location, only have to cross the road, walk a few metres and you are at the beach, the weather was extremely hot so we went swimming twice a day. The motel was clean and tidy, the parking a little tight but overall we would definitely stay here again😀

A very friendly greeting and I was shown a room which I took. Its really clean and the bed was super comfortable, but its on old style hotel with a dated kitchen and bathroom, for the money Id like something more modern but that doesn't happen in Gisborne. I was also woken up from the noise of workmen leaving before sunrise in the upstairs rooms, not really loud but not good soundproofing.

We booked for 3 nights leading up to Easter and didn't get one decent nights sleep. We had asked for an upstairs unit, as we find downstairs units get all the overhead occupant's noise, and we're both light sleepers. We weren't informed until we arrived in reception that they only had a downstairs unit available for us; even worse, it was under two upstairs units occupied by baby elephants. Why didn't they let us know when they got our booking request? As we said when we left - we could have booked into a decent Bed & Breakfast or found somewhere else to stay for $275 a night if they had let us know immediately. They just wanted our money and we got a very noisy unit, peeling paint in the shower, kitchen and walls and our parking space was taken on the last day. An expensive lesson to learn; never to book in here again. We gave it 2 stars only as it is very handy to town and the beach and the cleaner was very friendly and nice. Not enough to return though.

I need to qualify this by saying that we booked on line and didnt realise there was a booking fee. We arrived and asked if we could book an extra night. After humming and harring we were allocated room 16.It appears to be a converted garage. Luckily we are not very big as the bathroom is minuscule. The wardrobe, kitchen cupboards and mirror appear to have come from a 50s style house. The kitchen curtains hung over the kitchen tap.It smelt very musty as if it had not been aired or used. However it was spotless and the linen was of good quality. As there was only a frosted door and one kitchen window there was no outlook at all so we decided to move on the next day. This particular room is very poor value for money.

We had a family unit with sea view for 2 nights and are absolutely satisfied by this choice.
Reception was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The unit was spacious, modern, well equipped and comfortable. The motel is very well located on the seafront road, within easy and scenic walk to the port or into Gisborne town, with it’s excellent Museum, parks, shops, cafes and services.
Highly recommended!

This is a lovely Motel across road from main beach and very close to all facilities. Our room was clean, well appointed, and quiet. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. We had booked in advanced as we were travelling with a small rescue dog and we had no problems checking in on our arrival.

Although not expensive this motel doesn't stand up to others in the price range.
Not a problem if staying for a single night and to be honest it does offer everything you expect, it's just rather tired and in need of equipment update and a redecoration.
I do accept that these issues may be a consequence of covid.

Hi Kevin, I see you stayed in our most budget studio and you also booked through Expedia. In future you may want to book direct as we offer a 10% discount from the price on Expedia or Booking.com. We have only owned the motel for a short while but have done more renovations in the other units. I'm pleased wit was adequate for a one night stay Enjoy your travelling around NZ

Perfect little stay, room was clean, comfortable, comfy beds, had all the necessities. Host was very friendly and welcoming. Gave me some good pointers on where to go what to see etc. Beach and boardwalk 30 seconds walk away across the road. Fish and chip shop on street corner. Would highly recommend staying here, a bit more reasonable in price, than the others around the area too. Always nice to be welcomed with a smile! It goes a long way...

No view of the beach, but very close. Clean, quiet unit upstairs (book for downstairs if any mobility issues). Continental breakfast available and was quite generous. We had booked in advance and checking in was simple and welcoming. Staff very helpful.

Only one of our units has a view of the beach which is disappointing but we are a walk across the road to experience the beach first hand. Im please you sound it clean as we pride ourselves with great reviews in cleanliness
