Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Room 1 tainted with stale nicotine, bathroom door needs adjusting and dining chairs need a recover or complete update.

Was able to move to Room 2 the next night which was much better.

Kids enjoyed the pool very much and it was handy to have a full kitchen in our room. The grounds/gardens were well kept.

Take care on bathroom/kitchen tiles as slippery when wet, one of our girls slid and fell.

If the rooms were updated it would be lovely as they are a good size.

All rooms seem to be chalet type all at ground level. Swimming pool right at the front.
Carpets could do with deep cleaning or replacing. Room had a full stove which is handy. Great shower pressure. Very little road noise although got woken by noisy neighbours arriving bàck just after 3am. A few blocks from the CBD.

The room and facilities seemed a bit drab and could do with some updating in places. Not a great amount of bathroom and toilet space. However, it was very clean and the service was good. Laundry facilities and washing line on site. A small pool and lounging area that looked very nice but we didn’t use it.
Fairly good location. A fair walk down Gladstone road before you reach the main town area and harbour but there are some shops on the way, takeaways and grocery stores.

dirty over priced and the housekeeping was negotiable needs a major clean from top to bottom and the price that is being charged is way over the top for the unit. used to stay on a regular basis years ago when I was working. Couldn't recommend anyone to stay there

Bathroom had a terrible smell, and we think flies were coming up through drains as we had all windows closed the whole time.

People were partying outside until well after 10pm, very noisy, and they even set off fireworks. We felt a bit unsafe.

Glass doors and windows were dirty. Would not recommend.

We arrived in 32 degrees and the room was all locked up - not a window open - cosy 2 bedroom 'apartment' The bathroom is in much need of a clean and the settee. 2 nights for four $450.00 - other motels alot better and cheaper. On an up tho - the pool area was very well presented and clean - the salt water pool - devine - and the staff are very friendly - thanks

I did not like the owner he was rude and very forthright in his manner, bordering unacceptable on check in and throughout the stay, the room was alright in size although the cleanliness was not up to scratch

I just needed to stay overnight in Gisborne and I booked this place at the last minute. It was really perfect for me. It was on the main street of town. It has a pool. The Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and included a full kitchen and separate bedroom. There was a living room with a sofa and dining table, an extra bed, and a flat screen tv. Free Wifi was just 1 GB and expired quickly and was slow. But the place was clean and comfortable and I got a good night's sleep on a good bed and a nice shower in the bath with good water pressure and nice shower nozzle. The price was fair. What more could you ask for.

After looking at several motels we were very pleased with Teal Moel. Absolutely immaculate and nice little touches, like hair dryer, iron, free tea coffee and cookies. When we checked in we were given free WIFI and even a little bottle of milk for our tea....nice touch.

The location was perfect.. Just a couple of minutes into town.

Staff were most plesant and helpful. We would stay here again for sure, and highly recommend it to others.
