A lovely spacious room in a very convenient location for the town, riverside walks with monuments to Captain Cook and his cabin boy, museum and beaches. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Although breakfast wasn’t included you could order a continental breakfast the day before which was delivered that evening to eat at your leisure the following morning.

A very comfortable Mote,l clean, good views on the balcony to the port and marina spacious room but the front door step is a significant trip hazard as they are hard to see being terracotta tile laid down on terracotta tile. Visually brilliant tile work as all lines match but you can't distinguish the change in height tripped twice almost broke my toes. A very good continental breakfast.

With a couple of minor quirks, we found this Motor Inn comfortable and convenient. The room design is cool and airy, which is necessary as Gisborne gets very hot, it was 28 Celcius when we visited but it was barely necessary to use the air conditioning in the room. It was spacious, and our 1 bedroom studio had a large bathroom suitable for disabled persons. The shower pressure was very strong and if the shower tap was fully opened the rose would fly off around the bathroom! WiFi performance was marginal, and the fridge doesn't really fit into the kitchen properly. But these were minor issues. It is in a handy location to shops and to the beach. Highly recommended by us.

I stay at least once a month for work and always have to book months in advance. Great central location. Only gripe is paper thin walls. You can hear everything - plumbing especially so. Dated but clean rooms vary in configuration but all have microwave, fridge, basic crockery, iron and decent hairdryer!

This motel has the most beautiful outlook and is quiet and peaceful. A very spacious room with all the usual facilities. Kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc. and a decent-sized fridge plus microwave and electric fry pan. Easy walking distance from excellent eating and shopping opportunities. Will certainly be back!

We stayed for 3 nights and found the accommodation to be very comfortable, well maintained and clean. The location was ideal with an easy stroll to restaurants and the main retail shopping centre. Our lovely host, Karen, was very helpful by suggesting places to visit and eat and providing general information to us. It was very good value and I would highly recommend to anyone intending to visit Gisborne

Stayed in a studio unit with kitchenette for two nights. Great location across from the river and easy walking distance to all the key spots you’d want to visit in central Gisborne with the bonus of two really good places to eat being a 2 min walk around the corner. Our unit was a good size, really clean and well appointed. Rooms are serviced each day and staff are very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for more to make a long weekend in Gisborne go without a hitch. Definitely recommend.

This place is handy to town and the parking is good but the plumbing from all the rooms around me is so loud as to be claustrophobia-inducing. I wouldn't come back. I dread to think what is going to be like when people get up to use the loo in the middle of the night, and they're going to hate me when I get up at 5am.

Location was great, at the end of city with a view of restaurants that you can walk to for lunch or dinner. The view of a lakeside with palm trees and walk along for daily morning or evening walks. The warehouse within walking distance. Own kichen in your room, bed was comfotable, lots of cupboard space, 2 seater to watch tv, guest laundry handy. Just a 5-10 minute walk to gisborne city centre. 10-15 minute walk to the beach where you can enjoy ice cream, fish & chips and more frim captain morgans takeawyays right next to the beach.

This is a very nice location but we were disappointed with the cold shower and units were very noisy. We were able to walk to many things from the Motor Inn and has good parking but overall it promises at lot but fails to deliver on expectations. I don't think even the prime location would get us to return.
