Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We would like to thank you so much for the lovely meals and your amazing hospitality. The manager Karl asked me to send you this thank you. The guys really appreciated everything that you did for them.

I also would like to thank you Carmen. You made my job nice and easy and you are a pleasure to deal with (nothing is too much trouble).

As the result of a car breakdown, we had to stay at the Palm Court for a few days. How lucky we were!! The late check-in was swiftly dealt with when our circumstances were known
and thereafter the service was immaculate. The room itself was spotless, with a comfortable double bed`, first rate catering amenities, commodious bathroom and very pleasant for sitting in, if the weather wasn't good. TV for entertainment. Breakfast, ordered the evening before w as courteously served. exactly as requested. Restaurant nearby.
As an added bonus, we were willingly shown round Gisborne, lacking our own transport!!!
We'll be back!!!!

Good basic Motel a short drive from town. Clean with all the expected amenities and facilities. Friendly organised staff. Comfortable furnishings. On the main road but not noisy. Milk in a glass bottle so making an effort to be green.

Convenient, quiet, clean, simple, warm. Internet access was excellent and included in the service. Milk if you needed it for breakfast and a fridge that was plugged in. Tv channels available with good quality TV.

We sincerely apologise that our booking came in late but on arrival the service we received was disgusting!!
The lady that served him was really rude and had a big attitude. Also took a good look at the clothes he wore so - ⬇️

Note to travellers: Make sure you are dressed in a business suit with a big wallet; you'll have a better chance of reasonable service.

Rooms were presented fine but really cold - I don't even think the heater worked.
TV was on its way out , fuzzy black and white.

On departure , noone served us at the counter - at all. Instead she pretended not to hear the bell ring and walk the other way.

Being a Qualmark, I would have expected better! Pity other accomodation was unavaliable, we could have taken our money elsewhere. Will not recommend this host!

On arrival at the Palm Court Motor Lodge the friendly proprietor showed us to a spacious, spotlessly clean, bright and airy unit, which proved to be extremely comfortable and offered all of the features to ensure that our stay was an enjoyable one. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access was also available as was off-street parking in the large, paved courtyard surrounded by a variety of well tended plants and shrubs. Situated on the main road just a few minutes' drive from the City Centre, the motel makes an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions that this area has to offer. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the Palm Court Motor Lodge to anyone planning a visit to the Gisborne area. For quiet, comfortable, quality accommodation, this is the place to stay.

We enjoyed our dinner at the nearby Indian restaurant(Tamarind) to the left going out onto Gladstone Road and our $8 breakfast at the restaurant on the right.
$165 for 3 adults on wotif so booking.com is probably a cheaper option.
Unfortunately no friendly welcome from the lady in reception which we come to expect.
Spa bath was appreciated.

This motor lodge states it has a washer dryer in room ( suite ) Does it? Cannot see a washer dryer in any of the photos.

Hi, at the time we stayed there, there was no washer/dryer. But I was told by the new owner that they were doing renovations. So, maybe they do have washer/dryers now. Best to send an e-mail to the owner and ask if they have them.
