Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed just one night after a punishing motor bike trip and were grateful for the warm welcome, comfortable room and bed and proximity to the town. Girvan is a home not just a house, albeit a very handsome and gracious one, and Tracey and Craig the perfect hosts, friendly, easy going and helpful. Would return in a heartbeat!

The B&B is very conveniently located: in a nice and quiet neighborhood, close to town and beach (loved the town beach!!). Tracey and Craig were wonderful hosts! Very friendly and communicative, gave good tips for hikes and things to do in the area. Our room was very clean, tidy, very nicely decorated and spacious. Loved the chats with the hosts and other guests in the wonderful garden. And we loved Jack the golden retriever :-) We would come back any time!

The classic period accommodation provided everything that we needed for our three night stay. Lovely continental breakfast that could not be faulted. The local breads were very yummy, home baked muesli, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Looking forward to a return!

We stayed in there very stylish and beautiful house, and had a wonderful room and a very warm welcome. It is a quiet upscale neighbourhood and the breakfast after a super good night is excellent. The best place of our 2 weeks stay in New Zealand. The owners went out of their way to serve us. They have a swimming pool outside you can use.

We arrived at Girvan b and b after I fell heavily on my hip and could barely walk. Tracey and Craig came to our rescue and helped us in every way possible starting with a cup of tea and biscuits. They directed us to the emergency room for treatment (luckily nothing broken). On our return (me on crutches) they spent considerable amount of time helping us find a place to stay with no stairs. This was on a busy weekend. Finally, mission accomplished, and we were on our way! What a warm, friendly and generous couple. We only hope we can return to Gisborne to stay at Girvan b and b some day!!!!

This b & b has wonderful personal touches everywhere. You can feel like you are staying with your long lost cousins or be left to your own devices. Plenty of information is offered by the hosts on what to do. Breakfast is divine. Well worth the stay. Loads of room. Very central. Huge section, and Tracy and Craig were so good with the kids that we all got a break. Hard to fault. Was a little noisy first night, but next night was quiet and they didn't mind our early noise.

Excellent B+B with comfortable en suite rooms in a large 1920's house. Great location close to town (about 7 mins walk away). Courteous and friendly hosts with lots of useful information. Parking is within the garden area but don't park under the avocado trees! A laundrette is approx. 5 mins walking.
