Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner & I were doing a weekend away on our motorcycles. We chose the Beachcomber because of the price & location, were satisfied on both accounts.
The Manager suggest parking our Ducati's out of site of the road behind a newly constructed wall, which also gave us peace of mind.
The owner of the Beachcomber Motel are currently doing major up grades to the units & they're looking real nice.(not that you would have known as we weren't inconvenienced in anyway.)
Would I stay here again? Absolutely

We had traveled up the Eastern Cape, planning for an overnight in Gisborne, on reading a travelers guide took a detour to Wainui beach. Well worth it.

Lovely motel, well appointed rooms with very facility, clean, modern with a courtyard.

Across the the road is the Wainui Store which serves the best pizza in NZ take a walk on the beach and enjoy.

This is my 4th stay in Gisborne within 12 months and the Beachcomber is by far the best place I've stayed in Gisborne. The owner she is very caring, the view is beautiful, the kitchen facilities are great, nice modern bathroom with fluffy towels and good WiFi. I had a sliding door out onto a shared balcony that looked out to the beach and ocean!

We stayed in this motel in Jan this year for 1 night on recommendation from staff in the i-site office. We payed $105 and had a one bedroom unit with lounge/kitchen/diner.It seems a bit tired but is very clean It was ok for one night but we've stayed in nicer units for less money.

Although value for money for not good for more than a couple of nights. The top floor room was very hot, and with only a fan, ventilation and cooling was not good. Cooking facilities are minimal and well below the standard in most other NZ motels we've been accommodated in. However, it was very clean and well serviced, and mine host friendly and accommodating. I think it's time for an injection of capital to bring this up to standard. I did note the advertised bookings.com ratings of 9.3 and 9.2 ...and have to wonder!

We booked the Beachcomber only a week ahead for a great rate. Booked 2 rooms for 4 people. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Beds are a bit dated and so is the bedding.

Love the location right across the street from the beach. Reception team is lovely.

Quiet motel just steps from the ocean, the motel is quiet and staff are helpful and kind. All rooms have king beds and have kettle, toaster & a few dishes. There is also a BBQ on site for guest use. Two second floor rooms have a fabulous view of the ocean. Close to all services yet on a quiet street.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beachcomber, right opposite Waikanae Beach in Gisborne. We had a lovely, clean, warm, modern room with beach views. The room highlights were the luxurious king size bed, and the double spa bath. We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in room 12 for five nights. The room was light, airy, clean and in excellent condition as was the decor. Unfortunately the weather was not as good as expected but the motel was ideally located for walking over the grassed reserve to the beach and along the front into Gisborne. The people were friendly & helpful and the view from the room & adjoining balcony most relaxing (over the grassed reserve to the sea).
