Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for one night in January 2020 - two adults and two teenagers in a unit with two bedrooms.
The motel is easy to find on the main road into Gisborne from the south. It's about 3 km or about a five-minute drive from the CBD/main shopping area. Closer to the motel it's mostly residential. A supermarket is further down the road. Our unit faced the street and we heard absolutely no noise.
The unit was extremely large. There were, in fact, also two single beds in the lounge area, so the unit could have accommodated more people. The bathroom was large and the kitchenette had all the required features. The wifi worked well and the TV had a good selection of channels.
Overall, we had a comfortable stay here.

A lovely clean motel with very comfortable bed, a spa bath and a kitchenette. The owners were friendly and helpful and provided a map with lots of suggestions on places to visit and eat. Definitely on my return list.

My wife and I stayed in Unit 1 for a couple of nights. This was the front unit and a good size.
It was clean, comfy, had a good shower, was very spacious for a studio, big TV, table and chairs, full kitchen
The only real downside was some road noise, but as we were on a main road this was to be expected.
Mick was a helpful host and sent us to The Rivers for dinner which turned out to be a great place.
Definitely a place we would recommend and stay at again if the opportunity arose.

Helpful owners who provide a generally good standard of spacious accomodation and ammenities. It's clean, practical and well laid out. Minor improvement would be a king-sized bed, rather than a queen and option for a softer pillow as both types on offer became compressed and were quite hard after a while, so if you are a side-sleeper that may be an issue, or bring your own pillow. However, everything else was great and I would gladly stay here again.

Really can't say enough about this motel. Firstly it was spotlessly clean - so important! Spacious modern unit, toiletries in the bathroom, lovely spa bath, beds were comfortable and best of all there was comprehensive MY SKY in the bedroom and lounge on large TV's. Owner was friendly and helpful. Really impressed.

Very clean and tidy although dated interior this is one of the cleanest rudest motels I have stayed in New Zealand. Very roomy 1 bed unit which you could sleep 4 people in .
Well equiped kitchen, great off street parking and also quiet with little road noise .We will definitely be back

This is the second time I have stayed with my family at this lodge. It is extremely clean and tidy. It is well laid out. Good sized rooms. Comfortable beds and the kitchenette is well stocked with all that is needed.
It is nice and quiet even though it is on the main road into Gisborne.
I will definitely stay here again .

This hotel had quiet rooms off the main street in town. You need a car to see the sites, shop or go eat, etc. The rooms were clean, with good air con and beds. The showers and bathroom were adequate. The host was very pleasant and helpful. They have a laundry on site.

Booked in for a few nights. Room presentation and lay out was very nice. Good, strong air con, easy parking and comfortable bed.
The owners seemed tired and were not overly engaging or pleased to see you. Maybe an off period for them?
