Stayed for two nights. On the edge of Gisborne but still so easy to get anywhere and close to the airport and wineries. Room was tidy, and good to enjoy the swimming pool and spa bath in our room on the hot day.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two day stay at this lodge...beautiful done up rooms which I really loved the host was just perfect - loving couple to welcome you makes you feel so comfortable that it wont remind you of your own home or even make you homesick...

My family and I stayed at Champers Motor Lodge in the 2 bedroom unit. Unit is modern, clean, hosts are friendly and very welcoming!! Definitely will be staying at Champers again!! Was a great place for me to catch up with my sister, her hubby and 2 kids and also enough room for our kids to have a catch up too. I will be staying here a lot more regularly and encourage you to try this place out even for a night!

We stayed one night at Champers Motor Lodge and would certainly stay again when back in Gisborne. The unit was very clean and good condition. Friendly host, free wifi and just a nice decent place to stay. Great price.

I arrived on the 2nd last day of my trip to NZ from the UK specifically for the purpose of visiting my recently deceased father's grave. I had made a mistake with the booking. The motel was full and there was absolutely no other accommodation in Gisborne that evening. Realising my predicament (I'd have slept in a car if I'd had one), the wonderful proprietors invited me into their own accommodation and made me feel so welcome. I feel this story demonstrates the ethics of the business and what nice people they are. I cannot thank them enough.

For a cheap place this is really great. Very well looked after rooms. Nice and clean and comfortable. Good beds. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Handy to the airport and shops. All the usual trimmings are available like breakfast etc. We would stay again no problem
