Detailed Reviews
Owner greeted us with a smile, showed us to our room, included small talk. Really nice and friendly.
Room was large and clean and had everything we needed for the one night we stayed. The king bed was so comfortable, I suffer from back aches so was really worried about the bed. The pillow was just right as well, because with back aches, you need a good supportive pillow!
The only downside to our stay was the pub across the road near the back entrance, which is by no means any fault of the Motels.
A great fish n chip place right near the Motel, Lytton West fish n chip shop.
I would definitely recommend to come and stay here, it’s right across the road from the hospital too.

We have been to a few motels around NZ and this would rate up there in terms of overall ratings. Total package - Awesome!!!!!
Affordable rate: professional and lovely service over the phone and, even better, in person: a stunning spacious lockwood unit (very homely and would love a replica as a holiday set up): comfy king bed: all fittings/appliances/furnishings functional and quality: decent complimentary products (dove 3in1 + hand lotions etc) : quiet area (despite being on a main road and by a pub on guy fawkes night): car park at your door: & everything clean and tidy. To top it off, they gave an unexpected discount for our unexpected guest. Walked across the road to The Tav for a luscious, quick, and affordable meal with A1 service (on the recommendation of the Motel) . Thank you TML. Classy at all levels!!! From a gay Maori couple who don't often feel comfortable /welcome at many motels

When we arrived at reception the welcome was excellent and extremely friendly. The room was very clean and well presented and everything was in good working order. When it came time to check out they were very flexible in allowing us more time if needed. If we travel to Gisborne again, this is where we will stay.

Very comfortable accommodation with friendly hosts. Everything that should work does. Happy to recommend it. Just check you're happy with the location.
I'm still typing because trip adviser won't accept a short review. Next time I won't bother.

Arrived and made to feel welcome right from the get go. Thanks Matt for the easy communication.
Pleasent and fresh feel in a nicely presented room. Full cooking kitchen facilities. Love the fridge size as well. Good shower pressure. Spacious and practical.
Handy to The Tav straight across the street. Good meals there. Jad a nice Scotch Fillet meal. Shops are behind the The Tav, includes cafe, post shop, fish n chip shop etc..
Big thanks to Jane who serviced our rooms. She was a huge wealth of local knowledge and history of the area. She was bery happy to point is in the right direction. We spoke to her after she had finished her shift. A great asset is your staff so wish to especially acknowledge her. Thank you again Jane.

After a long drive, this motel was very welcoming. The owner greeted us and asked about our reasons for visiting the area, which was a nice pleasant change.
Our room was very spacious and clean, pity we were only there for a single night.
Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area, only downside was the constant drizzle of the rain, but some things the owners can't control.

This motel is modern, roomy and it’s presentation was tops. There are cooking facilities a couch and dining table… perfect for a longer stay. We popped across the road to the local redo and bar. The manager was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again and recommend it to our friends.

Location is very handy to the hospital (across the road) and in walking distance to 4 Square and other essentials (3.5 km to town centre but quite walkable). I found this motel very good, has everything you need and very friendly accomodating service. Also good rates and clean and tidy.
